5. Setup

5.1 Speaker Connection

  1. Position the speakers on either side of the main unit for optimal stereo separation.
  2. Connect the speaker wires to the corresponding binding posts on the back of the main unit and the speakers. Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and - to -) for each speaker. The red terminal is typically positive (+), and the black terminal is negative (-).
  3. Tighten the binding posts securely.

5.2 Antenna Connection

  • FM Antenna: Connect the supplied FM wire antenna to the FM antenna terminal on the rear panel. Extend the wire for best reception.
  • AM Antenna: Connect the supplied AM loop antenna to the AM antenna terminals on the rear panel. Rotate the antenna for optimal AM reception.

5.3 Power Connection

  1. Ensure the unit is turned off.
  2. Connect the power cord to the AC IN jack on the rear of the main unit.
  3. Plug the other end of the power cord into a standard AC wall outlet (120V AC, 60Hz).

5.4 Subwoofer Connection (Optional)

If you wish to connect an external powered subwoofer, use an RCA cable to connect the subwoofer output terminal on the main unit to the input of your powered subwoofer. Refer to your subwoofer's manual for specific connection instructions.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Power On/Off

Press the POWER button on the front panel or the remote control to turn the unit on or off.

6.2 Source Selection

Press the FUNCTION button on the front panel or the remote control repeatedly to cycle through available sources: CD, USB, Bluetooth, FM, AM, AUX.

6.3 CD Playback

  1. Select the CD source.
  2. Press the OPEN/CLOSE button to open the CD tray.
  3. Place a CD with the label side up into the tray.
  4. Press OPEN/CLOSE again to close the tray. Playback will start automatically.
  5. Use PLAY/PAUSE, STOP, SKIP (forward/backward) buttons for control.
  6. To randomize tracks, press the RANDOM button on the remote control. Note that randomization may reset when the unit is powered off.

6.4 Bluetooth Pairing and Playback

  1. Select the Bluetooth source. The display will show "PAIRING" or "BLUETOOTH".
  2. On your Bluetooth-enabled device (smartphone, tablet, etc.), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  3. Select "SHARP XL-HF102B" from the list of devices.
  4. Once paired, the display will show "CONNECTED". You can now play audio from your device through the microsystem.
  5. Control playback (play/pause, skip) using your connected device or the microsystem's remote control.

6.5 USB Playback

  1. Insert a USB flash drive containing MP3/WMA files into the USB port on the front panel.
  2. Select the USB source. Playback will start automatically.
  3. Use PLAY/PAUSE, STOP, SKIP (forward/backward) buttons for control.
  4. To randomize files, press the RANDOM button on the remote control. Note that randomization may reset when the unit is powered off.

6.6 Radio Tuning (AM/FM)

  1. Select the FM or AM source.
  2. Press the TUNING +/- buttons to manually tune to a station.
  3. Press and hold TUNING +/- for automatic station scanning.
  4. To preset stations, tune to the desired station, then press MEMORY followed by a preset number button.

6.7 Sound Adjustment

  • Volume: Use the VOLUME +/- buttons on the unit or remote.
  • Bass/Treble: Press the BASS or TREBLE button on the remote, then use the +/- buttons to adjust.
  • X-BASS: This feature enhances bass. Press the X-BASS button on the remote to activate/deactivate. Note that activating X-BASS may affect treble settings.

6.8 Remote Control

The included remote control provides access to all functions of the microsystem. Ensure batteries are correctly installed. Point the remote control towards the main unit's front panel sensor.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the unit and speakers with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
  • CD Player: Keep the CD tray clean. Avoid touching the lens. Use a CD cleaning disc if necessary.
  • Ventilation: Ensure ventilation openings are not blocked to prevent overheating.
  • Storage: If storing the unit for an extended period, unplug it from the power outlet and remove batteries from the remote control.
