This heater is preset to raise the water temperature approximately 6°F above the ambient room temperature. It does not have adjustable temperature controls.

- Water Changes: Always unplug the heater before performing water changes or any other aquarium maintenance that might expose the heater to air while powered on.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Heater not warming water. | Not plugged in; power outage; faulty unit; tank size too large for heater wattage; ambient room temperature too low. | Ensure heater is securely plugged in. Check power supply. Verify heater wattage is appropriate for your aquarium size (recommended for up to 5 gallons). If ambient room temperature is very low, a 7.5W heater may not provide sufficient warmth. Consider a higher wattage heater for larger tanks or colder rooms. |
| Water is too warm. | Heater wattage too high for tank size; high ambient room temperature. | This heater is preset and non-adjustable. If the water is consistently too warm, the heater may be too powerful for your tank size or your room temperature is already high. Ensure the heater is used in an appropriate tank size (up to 5 gallons). If the issue persists, consider a different heating solution. |
| Heater appears damaged. | Physical impact; manufacturing defect. | Immediately unplug the heater. Do not use a damaged heater. Contact Aqueon customer support or your retailer for assistance. |
