Setup
Before First Use
- Carefully unpack the coffeemaker and remove all packaging materials.
- Wash the glass carafe, its lid, and the removable filter basket in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Wipe the exterior of the coffeemaker with a soft, damp cloth.
- Before brewing coffee for the first time, it is recommended to run a full cycle with only water to clean the internal components. Fill the water reservoir to the 12-cup mark with cold water and press the power button. Discard the water after the cycle is complete.
Placement
Place the coffeemaker on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface near an electrical outlet. Ensure there is enough clearance above the unit to open the lid for filling water and adding coffee grounds.

Operating Instructions
- Fill Water Reservoir: Open the top lid of the coffeemaker and fill the water reservoir with cold, fresh water to the desired number of cups indicated on the water level indicator. Do not exceed the 12-cup maximum fill line.
- Insert Filter and Coffee Grounds: Place a standard basket-style paper filter into the removable filter basket. Add the desired amount of ground coffee into the filter. A general guideline is one level tablespoon of coffee grounds per cup.
- Position Filter Basket: Ensure the filter basket is securely seated in its position within the coffeemaker.
- Close Lid and Place Carafe: Close the top lid firmly. Place the empty glass carafe with its lid on the warming plate, ensuring it is properly aligned to activate the pause and serve mechanism.
- Start Brewing: Plug the coffeemaker into a standard electrical outlet. Press the power button. The illuminated power light will turn on, indicating that the brewing cycle has begun.
- Pause and Serve Feature: The coffeemaker is equipped with a pause and serve feature, allowing you to temporarily remove the carafe during the brewing cycle to pour a cup of coffee. The flow of coffee will stop automatically. Replace the carafe within 20 seconds to prevent overflow.
- After Brewing: Once the brewing cycle is complete, the coffeemaker will automatically switch to a "keep warm" mode. The illuminated power light will remain on.
- Serving: Carefully remove the carafe from the warming plate to serve coffee.
- Turn Off: To turn off the coffeemaker, press the power button again. Unplug the coffeemaker from the outlet when not in use.

Maintenance
Daily Cleaning
- Always unplug the coffeemaker before cleaning and allow it to cool completely.
- Wash the glass carafe, its lid, and the removable filter basket in warm, soapy water after each use. These parts are top-rack dishwasher safe.
- Wipe the exterior of the coffeemaker, including the warming plate, with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
- Never immerse the main unit of the coffeemaker in water or any other liquid.
Decalcification (Mineral Deposit Removal)
Mineral deposits (calcium) can build up in your coffeemaker over time, affecting its performance and the taste of your coffee. Decalcify your coffeemaker regularly, depending on the hardness of your water and frequency of use (e.g., every 2-3 months).
- Fill the water reservoir with a mixture of white vinegar and cold water. A common ratio is 1 part white vinegar to 2 parts water. For a 12-cup coffeemaker, use approximately 4 cups of vinegar and 8 cups of water.
- Place a paper filter in the filter basket (no coffee grounds).
- Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
- Turn on the coffeemaker and allow half of the mixture to brew through.
- Turn off the coffeemaker and let it soak for at least 15 minutes to allow the vinegar to work on the deposits.
- Turn the coffeemaker back on and brew the remaining mixture.
- Discard the vinegar solution from the carafe and filter.
- Run 2-3 full cycles with fresh, cold water only to rinse out any remaining vinegar taste.
