5. Setup and Installation
The NDR-120-24 is designed for easy installation on standard DIN rails (TS-35/7.5 or TS-35/15).
5.1 Mounting
To mount the power supply, align the top clip of the unit with the top edge of the DIN rail. Push the bottom of the unit firmly towards the rail until it clicks into place. Ensure the unit is securely fastened.

Figure 5.1: NDR-120-24 mounted on a DIN rail. This image shows the power supply securely attached to a standard industrial DIN rail, demonstrating its intended installation method.
For optimal cooling, ensure there is sufficient clearance around the unit, especially above and below, to allow for free air convection.
5.2 Wiring Connections
Connect the input and output wires to the appropriate terminals. Refer to the labels on the unit for correct polarity and connection points. Use copper wire only, with a minimum temperature rating of 75°C.
- Input Terminals (L, N, ⌂): Connect the AC line (L), neutral (N), and protective earth (⌂) wires.
- Output Terminals (-V, +V): Connect the DC load to the negative (-V) and positive (+V) output terminals.
- Terminal Torque: Ensure all terminal screws are tightened to 6.5 Lb-in (0.74 Nm) to ensure secure electrical contact and prevent loosening due to vibration.

After wiring, double-check all connections for correctness and security before applying power.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Powering On
Once the unit is securely mounted and wired, apply the specified AC input voltage (100-240VAC). The "DC OK" indicator LED on the front panel will illuminate when the output voltage is within the acceptable range, indicating normal operation.

6.2 Output Voltage Adjustment
The output voltage can be finely adjusted using the "+V ADJ" potentiometer located on the front panel. Use a small, insulated screwdriver to carefully turn the potentiometer clockwise to increase the voltage or counter-clockwise to decrease it. Monitor the output voltage with a multimeter during adjustment to ensure it meets your application requirements.

7. Maintenance
The NDR-120-24 power supply is designed for long-term, reliable operation with minimal maintenance. However, periodic checks can help ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior of the unit to remove dust and debris, especially from ventilation openings. Use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Ventilation Check: Ensure that the ventilation openings are not obstructed and that there is adequate airflow around the unit.
- Connection Check: Periodically inspect all wiring connections to ensure they remain tight and secure. Loose connections can lead to overheating or intermittent operation.
- Environmental Check: Verify that the operating environment remains within the specified temperature and humidity limits.
No user-serviceable parts are inside the unit. Do not attempt to open or repair the power supply. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
8. Troubleshooting
This section provides solutions to common issues you might encounter with your NDR-120-24 power supply.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No output voltage / DC OK LED off | No input power Input fuse blown Overload protection activated Short circuit at output | Check AC input connection and power source. Check and replace input fuse if accessible (by qualified personnel only). Reduce load. Disconnect load and re-apply power. Check for short circuits in the load wiring. |
| Output voltage too low or unstable | Overload Loose connections Over-temperature protection activated | Reduce load. Check and tighten all wiring connections. Ensure adequate ventilation and ambient temperature is within limits. Allow unit to cool down. |
| Unit is hot to the touch | Insufficient ventilation Overload | Ensure proper clearance around the unit for airflow. Clear any obstructions. Verify load current does not exceed rated output. |
If the problem persists after attempting these solutions, contact qualified service personnel or MEAN WELL customer support for assistance.
