The Orange Crush 20RT is a 20-watt, 2-channel solid-state guitar amplifier featuring an 8-inch speaker, built-in reverb, and a chromatic tuner. It is designed for practice and small-venue performance.
Safety Information

Setup
Follow these steps to set up your Orange Crush 20RT amplifier:
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the amplifier from its packaging. Inspect for any signs of damage.
- Placement: Place the amplifier on a stable, level surface. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
- Power Connection: Locate the AC mains input on the rear panel. Ensure the power switch is in the 'OFF' position. Connect the supplied power cord to the amplifier and then to a suitable grounded AC power outlet. Verify the voltage selector switch (if present) matches your local mains voltage.
- Instrument Connection: Connect your guitar to the 'INPUT' jack on the front panel using a standard 1/4-inch instrument cable.

Operating Instructions

Front Panel Controls:
- INPUT: 1/4-inch jack for connecting your guitar.
- CHANNEL SELECT: Push button to switch between Clean and Dirty channels. The LED indicates the active channel (Green for Clean, Red for Dirty).
- CLEAN VOLUME: Controls the output level of the Clean channel.
- DIRTY GAIN: Adjusts the amount of overdrive/distortion on the Dirty channel.
- DIRTY VOLUME: Controls the output level of the Dirty channel.
- TREBLE: Adjusts the high-frequency response.
- MIDDLE: Adjusts the mid-frequency response.
- BASS: Adjusts the low-frequency response.
- REVERB: Controls the level of the built-in digital reverb effect.
- TUNER: Activates the chromatic tuner. The display will show the note being played.
- AUX IN: 3.5mm stereo input for connecting external audio devices (e.g., MP3 player, phone) to play along with music.
- PHONES (CabSim): 3.5mm stereo output for headphones. This output features Orange's CabSim circuit, which emulates the sound of an Orange 4x12 speaker cabinet for silent practice or direct recording.
Basic Operation:
- Power On: After connecting your guitar and power, ensure all volume controls are set to minimum. Flip the power switch to 'ON'.
- Clean Channel: Press the CHANNEL SELECT button until the green LED is lit. Slowly increase the CLEAN VOLUME to your desired level. Adjust TREBLE, MIDDLE, and BASS to shape your tone.
- Dirty Channel: Press the CHANNEL SELECT button until the red LED is lit. Adjust DIRTY GAIN for the desired amount of distortion, then slowly increase DIRTY VOLUME. Use the EQ controls to fine-tune the sound.
- Using Reverb: Turn the REVERB knob clockwise to increase the effect level.
- Using the Tuner: Press the TUNER button. The amplifier's output will be muted, and the display will show the note. Tune your guitar until the display indicates the correct pitch. Press TUNER again to exit.
- Playing with External Audio: Connect your audio device to the AUX IN jack. The audio will be mixed with your guitar signal.
- Silent Practice/Recording: Connect headphones or a recording device to the PHONES (CabSim) output. The internal speaker will be muted.
- Power Off: Turn all volume controls to minimum, then flip the power switch to 'OFF'. Disconnect the power cord.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the amplifier. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the amplifier in a dry environment, away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.
- Fuse Replacement: If the amplifier does not power on, the fuse may need replacement. Disconnect the power cord completely. The fuse holder is located on the rear panel (refer to Figure 2). Use a small flat-head screwdriver to open the fuse holder. Replace the fuse with one of the exact same type and rating as indicated on the amplifier's rear panel (e.g., T630mA for 100V/120V, T315mA for 230V).
Troubleshooting
