4.2. Receiver Connection and Binding

The REELY HT-4 system includes an HR-4 6-channel 2.4GHz digital receiver. Follow these steps to connect and bind the receiver to the transmitter:

  1. Connect the receiver to your model's power source and servos according to your model's instructions. Ensure the receiver receives power (4.0-8.4V).
  2. Turn on the transmitter.
  3. Press and hold the BIND button on the receiver.
  4. While holding the BIND button, power on the receiver. The receiver's LED should flash rapidly, indicating it is in binding mode.
  5. On the transmitter, locate the BIND button (usually on the front panel). Press and hold this button.
  6. The receiver's LED should now turn solid, indicating a successful bind.
  7. Release the BIND button on both the transmitter and receiver.
  8. Turn off both the transmitter and receiver, then power them on again (transmitter first, then receiver) to confirm the binding.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Transmitter Controls

The HT-4 transmitter features two primary control sticks, trim levers, and switches for various functions:

  • Left Stick: Typically controls throttle (up/down) and rudder/yaw (left/right).
  • Right Stick: Typically controls ailerons/roll (left/right) and elevator/pitch (up/down).
  • Trim Levers: Small levers adjacent to the main sticks used for fine-tuning control surfaces to achieve neutral flight or straight tracking.
  • Channel Switches: Additional switches may be present for auxiliary functions depending on your model.
  • Servo Reverse Switches: Located on the control panel, these switches allow you to reverse the direction of individual servo channels (MIX, RUD, THR, ELE, AIL) if needed for correct model response.
  • Delta Mixer Switch: Activates or deactivates the Delta mixer function for Delta wing aircraft.

5.2. Delta Mixer Function

The integrated Delta mixer combines the elevator and aileron control signals for models with Delta wing configurations. When activated, moving the right stick up/down will control pitch, and left/right will control roll, with the system automatically mixing the output to the two elevon servos. Ensure this function is enabled only for compatible Delta wing models.

5.3. Operating Range

The REELY HT-4 system offers a guaranteed operating range of up to 500 meters (approximately 1640 feet). Always maintain a clear line of sight to your model and avoid operating near sources of strong electromagnetic interference to ensure optimal signal integrity.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the transmitter and receiver with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners.
  • Storage: Store the remote control system in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries from the transmitter if storing for extended periods to prevent leakage.
  • Battery Care: Always use fresh batteries or fully charged rechargeable batteries. Dispose of depleted batteries responsibly.
  • Inspection: Periodically check all cables and connections for signs of wear or damage.

7. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Transmitter does not power on. Dead or incorrectly installed batteries. Replace batteries with fresh ones, ensuring correct polarity.
Model does not respond to controls.
  • Receiver not powered.
  • Transmitter and receiver not bound.
  • Out of range.
  • Interference.
  • Check receiver power connection.
  • Perform binding procedure (Section 4.2).
  • Bring model closer to the transmitter.
  • Move to an area with less interference.
Erratic or delayed control response.
  • Low transmitter or receiver battery.
  • Signal interference.
  • Replace/recharge batteries.
  • Operate in a clear area, away from other 2.4GHz devices.
Control surface moves in the wrong direction. Servo direction is reversed. Use the servo reverse switches on the transmitter to correct the direction for the affected channel.
