6. Maintenance

6.1 Refilling Ink Tanks

When an ink tank level is low, refill it using the corresponding genuine Epson ink bottle (T6641 Black, T6642 Cyan, T6643 Magenta, T6644 Yellow). Refer to Section 4.2 for detailed ink filling instructions. Regular monitoring of ink levels is recommended to avoid running out during print jobs.

6.2 Print Head Cleaning

If print quality declines (e.g., missing lines, faded colors), perform a print head cleaning. This can be done through the printer's utility software on your computer. Regular printing, even a small black and white or color page every 2-3 days, helps prevent ink from drying in the print head nozzles.

6.3 General Cleaning

Wipe the exterior of the printer with a soft, damp cloth. For the scanner glass, use a lint-free cloth and a non-abrasive glass cleaner. Avoid using alcohol or strong solvents. Keep the printer covered when not in use to protect it from dust.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 Printer Not Responding

  • Ensure the printer is powered on and the power cable is securely connected.
  • Check the USB cable connection between the printer and the computer.
  • Verify that the correct printer driver is installed and selected on your computer.

7.2 Poor Print Quality

  • Check ink levels and refill any low tanks.
  • Perform a print head cleaning (refer to Section 6.2).
  • Ensure you are using appropriate paper for your print settings.
  • If vertical lines appear in black and white copies, or if the print head is not working properly after extended use, contact customer support.

7.3 Paper Jams

  • Turn off the printer and carefully remove any jammed paper from the input tray, output tray, or inside the printer.
  • Ensure paper is loaded correctly and not creased or curled.
