2. Receiver (R304SB) Connection
- Connect the R304SB receiver to your model's electronic speed controller (ESC) or power source. The receiver requires a power supply of 3.7V-7.4V.
- Connect your servos to the appropriate channels on the receiver.
- Ensure all connections are secure and correctly polarized.
3. Binding the Receiver to the Transmitter
Refer to the detailed binding procedure in the separate "Futaba T-FHSS System Manual" for specific steps to link your R304SB receiver with the 4GRS transmitter. This process establishes a secure communication link.
Operating Instructions
1. Powering On/Off
- To power on the transmitter, slide the "POWER" switch to the "ON" position.
- To power off, slide the "POWER" switch to the "OFF" position.
- Always power on the transmitter first, then the receiver. Power off the receiver first, then the transmitter.
2. Menu Navigation
The 4GRS features a jog dial and various buttons for menu navigation. Rotate the jog dial to scroll through options and press it to select. Use the adjacent buttons for specific functions as indicated on the display.
3. Basic Adjustments
- Servo Reverse: Access the "REVERSE" menu to change the direction of servo movement.
- End Point Adjustment (EPA): Use the "EPA" menu to set the maximum travel for each servo channel. This prevents over-stressing servos.
- Dual Rate: Adjust steering and throttle dual rates via dedicated menus to change sensitivity.
- Fail-Safe: Configure fail-safe settings in the "F/S" menu to ensure your model reacts predictably in case of signal loss.
4. Advanced Functions
The 4GRS offers extensive customization. Refer to the detailed "Futaba 4GRS Advanced Programming Manual" for in-depth instructions on:
- Programmable Mixing (PMIX)
- 4WS Mixing for four-wheel steering vehicles
- Dual ESC Mixing for specialized drive systems
- Gyro Mixing and CPS Mixing
- Telemetry Sensor Setup and Display (requires optional sensors)
- Model Memory Management and Data Transfer
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the transmitter and receiver with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using solvents or harsh chemicals.
- Storage: Store the radio system in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries from the transmitter if storing for extended periods.
- Battery Care: Replace AA batteries in the transmitter when the low battery warning appears. Ensure rechargeable batteries are charged according to their manufacturer's instructions.
- Antenna Care: Handle the transmitter antenna with care to prevent damage. Ensure the receiver antenna is positioned correctly for optimal signal reception.
Troubleshooting
- No Power: Check transmitter batteries for correct installation and charge level. Ensure the receiver is properly connected to a power source.
- No Control: Verify that the transmitter and receiver are properly bound. Check all servo and ESC connections. Ensure the model memory selected on the transmitter matches the model being operated.
- Erratic Operation: Check for interference sources. Ensure receiver antenna is not damaged or obstructed. Verify all wiring is secure.
- Telemetry Data Not Displaying: Ensure optional telemetry sensors are correctly connected and configured in the transmitter menu.
