2. Recording Video
The dash cam typically begins recording automatically when powered on and connected to a power source. A recording indicator (e.g., a flashing red dot) will appear on the screen.
- Loop Recording: The dash cam records video in segments (e.g., 1, 3, or 5 minutes). When the memory card is full, the oldest unlocked files are overwritten automatically.
- Emergency Recording: In the event of a sudden impact or collision, the built-in G-sensor will trigger emergency recording, locking the current video segment to prevent it from being overwritten.
- Manual Lock: You can manually lock a recording by pressing a designated button (refer to on-screen prompts or device specific buttons).
3. Menu Settings
Access the menu to adjust various settings such as video resolution, loop recording duration, G-sensor sensitivity, date/time, and format the memory card.
- While not recording, press the Menu button to enter the settings.
- Use the navigation buttons to scroll through options.
- Press the OK/Confirm button to select an option or confirm a setting.
- Press the Menu button again to exit the settings.
4. Playback
You can review recorded videos directly on the dash cam or by connecting the memory card to a computer.
- On Device Playback: Stop recording, then enter playback mode via the menu or a dedicated button. Select the desired video file to play.
- Computer Playback: Remove the microSD card from the dash cam and insert it into a computer's card reader. The video files can be accessed and played using standard media player software.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the dash cam's lens and screen. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Memory Card: Regularly format the microSD card (at least once a month) to maintain optimal recording performance and prevent data corruption. Back up important files before formatting.
- Temperature: Avoid exposing the dash cam to extreme temperatures. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight in a hot vehicle can affect performance and battery life.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the dash cam in a cool, dry place.
