Display and Handling
Once assembled, your model is a detailed replica suitable for display. Handle the model with care to prevent damage to delicate parts, such as antennas, machine guns, and photo-etched details.
- Avoid exposing the model to direct sunlight for prolonged periods, as this can cause paint fading or plastic warping.
- Keep the model in a dust-free environment to maintain its appearance.
Maintenance
Model kits generally require minimal maintenance. Regular dusting is recommended to keep the model clean.
- Use a soft brush or a can of compressed air to gently remove dust from the model's surfaces and intricate areas.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials for cleaning, as these can damage the paint or plastic.
- If any parts become loose, re-apply a small amount of appropriate model glue to secure them.
Troubleshooting (Assembly Tips)
While TAMIYA kits are known for their precision, minor issues can sometimes arise during assembly. Here are some common tips:
- Part Fit Issues: If a part does not fit perfectly, gently sand or file the mating surfaces. Do not force parts together, as this can cause breakage.
- Decal Application: If decals do not adhere smoothly, ensure the surface is clean and glossy. Use decal setting solutions to help them conform to irregular surfaces and eliminate air bubbles.
- Photo-Etched Parts: These delicate parts require careful handling. Use fine-tipped tweezers and a sharp modeling knife to remove them from the fret. Apply super glue sparingly with a toothpick.
- Missing or Damaged Parts: In the rare event of missing or damaged parts, please contact TAMIYA customer support with your kit's model number and a description of the issue.
