Introduction

The WACACO Minipresso GR is a compact, lightweight, and sturdy portable espresso machine designed to allow you to savor authentic espresso wherever you are. It operates manually, requiring no battery or electricity, making it ideal for home, office, or on-the-go use, including camping and travel. Product Overview and Components

The Minipresso GR is designed for simplicity and efficiency. Familiarize yourself with its main components:

• Main Unit: Contains the pumping mechanism and internal components.
• Portafilter: Holds the coffee grounds.
• Filter Basket: Where ground coffee is placed.
• Water Tank: Holds hot water for brewing.
• Integrated Scoop: Used for measuring coffee grounds and tamping.

Setup Instructions

Before first use, disassemble all removable parts and rinse them with warm water. Ensure all components are dry before reassembly.

1. Disassemble the Unit: Unscrew the portafilter from the main unit and remove the filter basket. Unscrew the water tank from the top.

2. Add Coffee Grounds: Use the integrated scoop to add approximately 8 grams of finely ground coffee into the filter basket. Lightly tamp the grounds using the back of the scoop to level them. Do not over-tamp, as this can make pumping difficult and potentially damage the unit.

3. Reassemble Portafilter: Place the filled filter basket back into the portafilter and screw the portafilter onto the main unit.
4. Add Hot Water: Fill the water tank with hot boiling water up to the indicated fill line (approximately 70 ml / 2.35 oz).

5. Attach Water Tank: Screw the water tank onto the main unit.

Operating Instructions

Once assembled with coffee and hot water, you are ready to extract your espresso:

1. Unlock the Piston: Twist the piston from its locked transport position counter-clockwise to unlock it.
2. Position for Extraction: Invert the Minipresso GR over the integrated espresso cup or your preferred small cup.
3. Pump for Extraction: Begin pumping the piston. The first few strokes will build pressure. Continue pumping steadily until espresso begins to flow into your cup. You will notice a rich, dark stream followed by a golden-brown crema.

4. Enjoy Your Espresso: Once the flow becomes lighter in color or stops, you have extracted your espresso. Enjoy immediately for the best taste.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Minipresso GR. After each use:

• Disassemble all parts that came into contact with coffee or water.
• Rinse all components thoroughly with warm water. Use the included cleaning brush for the filter basket and portafilter to remove any residual coffee grounds.
• Allow all parts to air dry completely before reassembling for storage. This prevents mold and odors.
• Important: Avoid using harsh detergents or abrasive materials, as they can damage the unit.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Minipresso GR, consider the following common problems and solutions:

• Difficulty Pumping: This is often caused by over-tamping the coffee grounds or using too fine a grind.
  Solution: Ensure you lightly tamp the coffee. If the issue persists, try a slightly coarser grind.
• No Espresso Extraction: This can happen if there isn't enough hot water, or if the coffee grounds are too tightly packed.
  Solution: Check the water level in the tank. Re-prepare the coffee grounds ensuring they are not over-tamped.
• Weak or Watery Espresso: This may indicate insufficient coffee grounds or a grind that is too coarse.
  Solution: Ensure you are using the correct amount of coffee (8g) and that the grind is fine enough for espresso.
