Educator EZ 1/2 Mile Dog Training Collar User Manual

Model: EZ-900

Introduction

The Educator EZ-900 is a dog training collar designed for small to medium-sized dogs weighing 10 pounds and up, with neck sizes ranging from 5 to 22.5 inches. This system offers a 1/2-mile range and incorporates features aimed at humane and effective training, including adjustable stimulation levels, vibration, and tone settings. It utilizes COS (Control of Stimulation) technology for precise control and includes a patented Instant Stimulation Mode.

Product Components

The Educator EZ-900 system includes the following components:

Educator EZ-900 Dog Training Collar components: a yellow ergonomic remote transmitter and a black collar receiver.

Setup

Charging the Devices

Both the transmitter and receiver are powered by rechargeable Lithium Polymer batteries. Use the included dual charger to charge both units simultaneously. Connect the charger to a standard electrical outlet and plug the charging cables into the respective charging ports on the transmitter and receiver. A full charge typically takes approximately 2 hours.

Collar Fitting and Contact Points

Proper collar fit is crucial for effective and humane operation. The collar should be snug enough to allow the contact points to make consistent skin contact, but not so tight as to cause discomfort or restrict breathing. You should be able to fit one finger snugly between the contact point and your dog's skin.

Select the appropriate contact points (5/8" or 3/4") based on your dog's coat length. Longer contact points are generally used for dogs with thicker coats to ensure proper contact. Use the provided contact removal tool to install or change the contact points.

Stimulation Levels and Lock-and-Set

The EZ-900 offers 256 levels of "blunt" stimulation, with 100 levels displayed on the LCD. The "lock-and-set" feature allows you to set a maximum stimulation level to prevent accidental overstimulation. Stimulation can only be applied from zero and gradually increased by turning the dial until the desired response is achieved.

Tone and Vibration Settings

In addition to stimulation, the EZ-900 provides 7 vibration settings and 4 tone settings. These can be used as alternative or supplementary training cues. Dogs can quickly learn to associate the tone or vibration with desired behaviors or as a precursor to stimulation.

Night Light Feature

The collar receiver includes a tracking light that can be activated to flash or continuously illuminate. This feature is useful for locating your dog in low-light conditions or after dark, enhancing visibility and safety.

Instant Stimulation Mode

A patented Instant Stimulation Mode is available to eliminate the surprise of stimulation when applying levels above 30. This mode ensures a smoother transition for the dog, as stimulation is initiated from zero and gradually increased.
