1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your Acer XG270HU 27-inch WQHD Widescreen Monitor. Please read this manual thoroughly before using your monitor to ensure proper installation and functionality. Keep this manual for future reference.

2. Safety Information
Observe the following safety precautions to ensure the longevity of your monitor and your personal safety:
- Power Source: Use only the power adapter supplied with the monitor. Ensure the power outlet is properly grounded.
- Placement: Place the monitor on a stable, flat surface. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight, near heat sources, or in areas with excessive dust or humidity.
- Ventilation: Do not block ventilation openings. Allow adequate space around the monitor for proper airflow.
- Cleaning: Disconnect the power cord before cleaning. Use a soft, damp cloth for cleaning the screen and exterior. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Liquid and Foreign Objects: Never spill any liquid into the monitor or insert any foreign objects into the ventilation slots.
- Servicing: Do not attempt to service the monitor yourself. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.

4. Setup
4.1 Assembling the Stand
- Carefully remove the monitor and stand components from the packaging.
- Attach the stand base to the stand neck. Secure it with the captive screw located on the underside of the base.
- Align the assembled stand with the mounting slot on the back of the monitor. Gently push until it clicks into place. Ensure it is securely fastened.

4.2 Connecting the Monitor
Connect the monitor to your computer using one of the following video cables:
- DisplayPort: For optimal performance, especially with AMD FreeSync and 144Hz refresh rate, use the DisplayPort cable. Connect one end to the DisplayPort input on the monitor and the other to your computer's graphics card DisplayPort output.
- HDMI: Connect the HDMI cable to the HDMI 2.0 input on the monitor and the HDMI output on your computer.
- DVI: Connect the DVI cable to the DVI input on the monitor and the DVI output on your computer.
If you wish to use the monitor's integrated speakers or headphone jack, connect the included 3.5mm audio cable from your computer's audio output to the monitor's audio input. Alternatively, audio can be transmitted via DisplayPort or HDMI.

4.3 Powering On
- Connect the external power adapter to the monitor's power input.
- Plug the power cord into the power adapter, then into a grounded electrical outlet.
- Press the power button located on the monitor's bezel to turn on the display.
5. Operating the Monitor
5.1 On-Screen Display (OSD) Menu
The OSD menu allows you to adjust various monitor settings. Use the buttons located on the bottom right bezel of the monitor to navigate and select options.
- Press the menu button to open the OSD.
- Use the navigation buttons (usually arrows) to move through menu options.
- Press the select button to enter a sub-menu or confirm a setting.
- Use the exit button to go back or close the OSD.
5.2 Adjusting Display Settings
Key settings to configure for optimal viewing and gaming experience:
- Resolution: Ensure your computer's display settings are set to the native WQHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 for the sharpest image.
- Refresh Rate: For smooth motion, especially in gaming, set the refresh rate to 144Hz in your operating system's display settings. This requires a DisplayPort connection.
- AMD FreeSync: If your graphics card supports AMD FreeSync, enable it in both your graphics card control panel and the monitor's OSD menu. This synchronizes the monitor's refresh rate with your GPU's frame rate to eliminate screen tearing and stuttering.
- Brightness/Contrast: Adjust these settings in the OSD menu to suit your viewing environment and personal preference.
- Color Settings: Fine-tune color temperature, gamma, and other color parameters for accurate color reproduction.
5.3 Input Selection
To switch between connected video sources (DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort), use the input select button on the monitor's bezel or navigate to the input selection option within the OSD menu.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning the Monitor
- Always power off the monitor and unplug the power cord before cleaning.
- Use a soft, lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water or a specialized screen cleaner to wipe the display surface. Do not spray liquid directly onto the screen.
- For the monitor casing, use a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the finish.
6.2 Storage
If storing the monitor for an extended period, disconnect all cables and pack it in its original packaging if possible. Store in a cool, dry place away from extreme temperatures and humidity.
