Setup

  1. Track Assembly: Carefully connect the 12 sections of curved track to form a complete circle. Ensure all connections are secure and the track is laid on a flat, stable surface.
  2. Power Connection: Connect the hookup wires from the track to the transformer. Plug the 120V transformer into a suitable wall outlet.
  3. Locomotive Placement: Gently place the locomotive and passenger cars onto the track, ensuring all wheels are properly seated on the rails.

Operating Instructions

  1. Power On: Turn on the transformer. The locomotive's front headlight should illuminate, indicating power is supplied.
  2. Speed Control: Use the locomotive controller on the transformer to adjust the speed. Turning the knob clockwise typically increases speed, while counter-clockwise decreases it.
  3. Direction Control: The controller also allows for changing the direction of the train. Consult the transformer's specific markings for forward and reverse controls.
  4. Motor Operation: Both wheel sets on the locomotive are driven by a powerful Buhler motor, ensuring smooth operation.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Regularly clean the track and wheels with a soft, dry cloth to ensure good electrical contact and smooth running.
  • Lubrication: Apply a small amount of model train lubricant (e.g., sewing machine oil) to the locomotive's driver rod pivot points if any squeaking occurs. This helps maintain longevity.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the train set in a dry, dust-free environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
