Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure you have the main caller unit and the remote control.
- Battery Installation (Main Unit):
- Locate the battery compartment on the main caller unit.
- Insert the required batteries (e.g., 8 AA batteries, not included) according to the polarity indicators (+/-).
- Securely close the battery compartment cover.
- Battery Installation (Remote Control):
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
- Insert the required batteries (e.g., 3 AAA batteries, not included) according to the polarity indicators (+/-).
- Securely close the battery compartment cover.
- Powering On: Turn on the main caller unit using its power switch. Then, press the power button on the remote control. The remote's LCD screen should illuminate.
Operating Instructions
- Sound Selection:
- Use the navigation buttons (up/down arrows) on the remote to browse through the available wildlife sounds on the LCD screen.
- The device has 1GB of storage capacity, capable of holding up to 200 wildlife sounds from the ORION online library.
- Press the 'Select' or 'Play' button to choose a sound.
- Sound Playback:
- Once a sound is selected, press the 'Play' button to begin playback through the main caller unit.
- Press 'Pause' to temporarily stop playback and 'Play' again to resume.
- Volume Control: Use the 'Volume Up' and 'Volume Down' buttons on the remote to adjust the sound output level.
- Remote Range: The ergonomic glow-in-the-dark LCD remote operates effectively up to a range of 250 yards. Ensure a clear line of sight for optimal performance.
- Sound Management (via USB): To add or remove sounds, connect the main caller unit to a computer using a standard USB cable (not included). The device will appear as a removable storage drive, allowing you to manage the sound files. Refer to the ORION online library for sound downloads and instructions.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of both the caller unit and the remote control. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the devices in water.
- Storage: When not in use, store the electronic caller and remote in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries if storing for extended periods to prevent leakage.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries in both the main unit and remote control when the power indicator light dims or the device's performance degrades. Always use fresh batteries of the specified type.
