Model: OG-1000W | Brand: Nanolux

1. Introduction

1.1 Product Overview

The Nanolux OG series ballast is an original digital electronic ballast designed for horticultural lighting. It features a dimming function, allowing operation at Super-lux, 100%, 75%, and 50% power levels. This ballast incorporates a Random Start system, which provides a 0-15 second delay for striking the bulb, reducing initial power draw during large installations. It is also NCCS (Nanolux Communication Control System) ready for advanced control.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Dimming Functions

The Nanolux OG-1000W ballast features a rotary dimming knob to adjust the light output. The available settings are:

Rotate the knob to select the desired power level. The corresponding indicator light on the ballast will illuminate.

5.2 Random Start Feature

The Random Start feature is automatically enabled. When multiple Nanolux ballasts are powered on simultaneously, this feature introduces a random delay of 0-15 seconds before each ballast strikes its bulb. This prevents a large instantaneous power draw, which can be beneficial for electrical systems in larger installations.

5.3 NCCS Wireless Control System

The Nanolux OG-1000W ballast is NCCS (Nanolux Communication Control System) ready. This allows for advanced wireless control and monitoring when used with compatible NCCS devices. Refer to the NCCS system manual for detailed setup and operation instructions.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Nanolux OG-1000W ballast, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Lamp does not strike or flickers.
  • No power to ballast.
  • Loose lamp connection.
  • Faulty lamp.
  • Incorrect dimming setting.
  • Check power supply and connections.
  • Ensure lamp cord is securely connected to ballast and reflector.
  • Test with a known good lamp.
  • Adjust dimming knob to a valid setting (e.g., 100%).
Ballast overheats and shuts down.
  • Insufficient ventilation.
  • Blocked cooling fins.
  • Operating in high ambient temperature.
  • Ensure adequate airflow around the ballast.
  • Clean any dust or debris from cooling fins.
  • Relocate ballast to a cooler environment.
