1. Speaker Placement

Proper speaker placement is crucial for an optimal 5.1 surround sound experience. Position the speakers as follows:

  • Subwoofer: Place the powered subwoofer on the floor, ideally in a corner or near a wall for enhanced bass response.
  • Front Left (FL) & Front Right (FR): Position these speakers on either side of your TV or main listening area, facing the listener.
  • Center (CEN): Place the center speaker directly above or below your TV, centered with the screen.
  • Surround Left (SL) & Surround Right (SR): Position these speakers to the sides or slightly behind your main listening position, facing inwards.

3. Connecting to Audio Source

The AA5171 offers multiple ways to connect to your audio sources:

  • RCA Inputs: Use the provided RCA cables to connect to devices with RCA audio outputs (e.g., DVD players, older TVs). The system has six independent RCA inputs for true surround sound.
  • Digital/Optical Input: For modern TVs and devices, use the optical cable to connect to the optical audio output.
  • 3.5mm AUX Input: Connect smartphones, tablets, or computers using the 3.5mm to RCA cable.
  • Bluetooth: Pair your Bluetooth-enabled device wirelessly to stream audio.
  • USB Drive & SD Card: Insert a USB drive or SD card into the dedicated slots for direct media playback.

Ensure the system is powered off before making any connections. Once all connections are secure, plug the subwoofer into a standard US 110V grounded wall outlet.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the surfaces of the speakers and subwoofer. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols, as they may damage the finish or internal components.
  • Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation around the subwoofer to prevent overheating. Do not block the ventilation ports.
  • Storage: If storing the system for an extended period, disconnect it from power and store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
