Operating Instructions
Setting ON/OFF Times
The timer allows for up to 2 ON and 2 OFF settings per 24-hour period using the black push segments (pins) around the dial.
- Identify Pins: The dial has small black segments. Each segment represents 15 minutes.
- Set ON Time: Push down the segments corresponding to the desired time you want the appliance to turn ON. For example, to turn ON at 6:00 AM, push down the four segments between 5:45 AM and 6:00 AM.
- Set OFF Time: Pull up the segments corresponding to the desired time you want the appliance to turn OFF. For example, to turn OFF at 8:00 AM, pull up the four segments between 7:45 AM and 8:00 AM.
- Minimum ON/OFF Duration: Ensure a minimum of 45 minutes between ON and OFF settings for reliable operation.
Manual Override
The HB112 timer includes a manual override switch, typically located on the side or bottom of the unit. This switch allows you to temporarily bypass the programmed settings.
- ON Position: Move the switch to the 'ON' position to keep the appliance continuously powered, regardless of the dial settings.
- OFF Position: Move the switch to the 'OFF' position to keep the appliance continuously off, regardless of the dial settings.
- TIMER Position: Move the switch to the 'TIMER' position to allow the programmed ON/OFF cycles to operate.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the timer with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
- Storage: Store the timer in a dry, cool place when not in use.
- No User-Serviceable Parts: Do not attempt to open or repair the timer. Refer servicing to qualified personnel.
Troubleshooting
- Appliance does not turn ON/OFF at programmed times:
- Ensure the manual override switch is set to 'TIMER'.
- Verify that the current time on the dial is correctly aligned with the present time.
- Check that the ON/OFF segments (pins) are correctly pushed down or pulled up for the desired times.
- Confirm the appliance is properly plugged into the timer and is functioning correctly.
- Timer stops operating after a power outage:
- This mechanical timer does not have an internal battery backup. After a power outage, you must manually reset the current time on the dial.
- Timer makes a faint humming noise:
- A faint humming noise is normal for mechanical timers as the internal motor operates the dial.
