Professional installation is recommended. If performing a DIY installation, ensure you have the necessary tools and expertise. Refer to the detailed instructions provided in the physical manual for specific drilling templates and hardware selection.

  1. Pre-Installation Check:
    • Confirm your TV's weight and VESA pattern are within the mount's specifications.
    • Locate and mark the center of your wood studs using a reliable stud finder.
    • Determine the desired height for your TV. Sanus provides a Heightfinder tool on their website for assistance.
  2. Attach TV Brackets:

Secure the TV bracket arms to the back of your television using the appropriate screws, washers, and spacers from the hardware kit. Ensure they are centered and firmly tightened.

Operating the Mount

The Sanus MLF13-B1 offers flexible viewing options:

  • Extension: The mount extends up to 14 inches (35.56 cm) from the wall, allowing you to pull your TV forward for better viewing angles.
  • Swivel: Swivel your TV up to 45 degrees left or right (depending on TV size and wall position) to direct the screen towards your viewing area.
  • Tilt: Utilize the Virtual Axis technology for 11 degrees of effortless tilt motion. This helps reduce glare and optimize your viewing experience. Adjustments can typically be made with a touch of a finger or by loosening/tightening specific knobs.
  • Level Adjustment: Post-installation level adjustment allows the TV to "roll" up to 4 degrees clockwise and counterclockwise, ensuring it is perfectly level even if the initial installation was slightly off.

Maintenance

To ensure continued performance and safety of your Sanus MLF13-B1 mount:

  • Regular Inspection: Periodically check all screws and connections to ensure they remain tight.
  • Cleaning: Wipe the mount with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Lubrication: The articulating joints are designed for smooth operation and generally do not require lubrication. If movement becomes stiff, consult Sanus support.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your mount, refer to the following common solutions:

  • TV is not level: Use the post-installation level adjustment feature to rotate the TV slightly clockwise or counterclockwise until level.
  • Mount is difficult to move/adjust: Check for any obstructions. Ensure all adjustment knobs are not overtightened. Some joints may have adjustable tension screws (refer to the full manual for specific locations).
  • TV appears to be sagging: Re-check the weight of your TV against the mount's maximum capacity. Ensure all mounting hardware is securely fastened to both the TV and the wall studs.
  • Cables are visible/tangled: Re-route cables through the integrated cable management clips.
