Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective use of your Flexi New Classic Retractable Lead Cord. Please read all instructions carefully before first use and retain this manual for future reference. This product is designed for walking dogs and small animals up to 8 kg.
Safety Instructions
- Always attach the leash securely to your pet's collar or harness. Ensure the attachment point is strong and reliable.
- Never attach the leash to a choke chain or training collar. This can cause injury to your pet.
- Do not wrap the cord around any part of your body. This can cause severe injury or burns.
- Keep the leash cord away from children. The cord can cause strangulation or other injuries.
- Regularly inspect the leash for damage. Discontinue use if the cord, casing, or attachment shows signs of wear or damage.
- Maintain control of your pet at all times. The braking system is for temporary control, not for continuous restraint.
- Avoid sudden stops or jerks. This can injure both you and your pet.
- Do not allow the cord to drag on the ground unnecessarily. This can cause wear and tear.
- Be aware of your surroundings. Retractable leashes allow your pet to roam further, increasing the risk of encounters with other animals, people, or hazards.
Setup
- Unpack the leash: Carefully remove the Flexi New Classic Retractable Lead Cord from its packaging.
- Attach to collar/harness: Securely clip the metal snap hook at the end of the leash cord to your pet's collar or harness D-ring. Ensure the clip is fully closed and locked if applicable.

Operating Instructions
The Flexi New Classic features an optimized short-stroke braking system for simplified handling.
- Holding the Leash: Grip the handle firmly. The ergonomic design provides comfortable wearing.
- Extending the Cord: Allow your pet to move forward, and the cord will automatically extend. The cord length is 3 meters.
- Stopping/Locking the Cord:
- Temporary Stop: Press and hold the large brake button (usually located on top of the handle) to temporarily stop the cord from extending further. Release the button to allow the cord to retract or extend again.
- Permanent Lock: For a continuous fixed length, press the brake button and then push the small locking switch (if present, often a sliding mechanism near the brake button) forward to engage the permanent lock. To release, push the locking switch back and then release the brake button.
- Retracting the Cord: To shorten the cord, move your arm forward, press the brake button, and pull your arm back towards your body. Release the brake button, move your arm forward again, and repeat the process until the desired length is achieved. The cord will retract automatically when slack.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: If the cord or casing becomes dirty, wipe it with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the leash in water.
- Drying: If the cord gets wet, fully extend it and allow it to air dry completely before retracting to prevent mildew and damage to the retraction mechanism.
- Storage: Store the leash in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Inspection: Periodically check the cord, casing, and snap hook for any signs of wear, fraying, cracks, or damage.
Troubleshooting
- Leash cord does not retract smoothly:
- Ensure the cord is not tangled or obstructed. Fully extend the cord and check for any debris or knots. If wet, ensure it is fully dry before attempting to retract.
- Brake button is stuck or not engaging:
- Check for any foreign objects lodged around the button or locking mechanism. Ensure the button is pressed firmly and released completely. If the issue persists, discontinue use.
- Snap hook is difficult to open/close:
- Clean the snap hook mechanism. A small amount of lubricant designed for metal parts (avoiding contact with the cord) may help, but ensure it does not compromise the security of the attachment.
