5. Setup
- Connect Power: Plug the provided power adapter into the DC 12V input port on the side of the hub (refer to Figure 2). Connect the other end of the power adapter to a suitable power outlet.
- Connect to Host Device: Connect one end of the USB 3.0 Micro-B cable to the USB 3.0 Micro-B port on the side of the hub (refer to Figure 2). Connect the other end of the USB 3.0 Type-A cable to an available USB 3.0 port on your computer or host device.
- Driver Installation: The LogiLink UA0228 is a plug-and-play device and typically does not require additional driver installation for most operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS, Linux). Your system should automatically detect and configure the hub.
- Connect USB Devices: You can now connect your USB devices (e.g., flash drives, external hard drives, keyboards, mice, smartphones) to the available USB 3.0 ports on the front of the hub. The red port is designed for fast charging.
6. Operating Instructions
Once the hub is set up, it operates automatically:
- Data Transfer: Connect your USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 devices to any of the blue USB 3.0 ports for high-speed data transfer. The hub supports data transfer rates up to 5 Gbps (USB 3.0 SuperSpeed).
- Charging: The red USB port is a dedicated fast-charging port, providing higher current output for quicker charging of compatible devices like smartphones. Other USB 3.0 ports also provide standard charging capabilities.
- Hot-Swapping: USB devices can be connected or disconnected from the hub while your computer is running without needing to restart.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Disconnect the hub from power and all connected devices before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface of the hub. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the hub in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and dust.
- Cable Management: Avoid bending or kinking the USB and power cables excessively to prevent damage.
8. Troubleshooting
- Device not recognized by computer:
- Ensure the USB 3.0 cable is securely connected to both the hub and your computer's USB 3.0 port.
- Verify that the power adapter is correctly connected to the hub and a working power outlet.
- Try connecting the hub to a different USB port on your computer.
- Restart your computer.
- Connected devices are not working or disconnecting:
- Check if the power adapter is connected and providing power to the hub. Some high-power devices require a powered hub.
- Ensure the devices are properly inserted into the hub's ports.
- Try connecting the device to a different port on the hub.
- If using multiple high-power devices, ensure the total power draw does not exceed the hub's capacity.
- Test the device by connecting it directly to your computer's USB port to rule out device-specific issues.
- Slow data transfer speeds:
- Ensure both the hub and your connected device support USB 3.0. If a USB 2.0 device is connected, it will operate at USB 2.0 speeds.
- Verify that the hub is connected to a USB 3.0 port on your computer. USB 3.0 ports are typically blue.
- Avoid connecting the hub through another unpowered or low-speed USB hub.
