4. Setup and Initial Connection

1. Prepare the Battery: If necessary, clean the battery terminals. For flooded lead-acid batteries, check the electrolyte level and top up with distilled water if needed.
2. Select Voltage: On the FERVE F-705 charger, select the correct voltage (6V or 12V) using the corresponding switch. This must match the voltage of the battery you intend to charge.

5. Operating Instructions

Once connected, the charging process will begin. Monitor the analog ammeter to observe the charging current.

1. Monitor Charging: The ammeter will show a higher current at the beginning of the charge cycle, gradually decreasing as the battery charges.
2. End of Charge: The battery is fully charged when the ammeter needle drops to a very low reading or zero, indicating that the battery is no longer accepting significant current. The charger is a manual type, so it does not automatically shut off. You must disconnect it manually.
3. Disconnecting:
   • First, unplug the charger from the AC power outlet.
   • Then, disconnect the BLACK (-) negative clamp from the battery.
   • Finally, disconnect the RED (+) positive clamp from the battery.
