4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Receiver Display Information
The LCD display on the receiver provides real-time status information:
- Frequency: Displays the current operating frequency in MHz.
- RF Level: Indicates the strength of the radio frequency signal received from the microphone.
- AF Level: Shows the audio frequency level being received.
- Antenna A/B: Indicates which antenna (A or B) is actively receiving the signal, demonstrating the True Diversity function.
- Microphone Battery Indicator: Displays the remaining battery life of the connected microphone.
4.2 Frequency Selection and Synchronization
The UR-222S offers 10 groups with 90 frequencies. To change the operating frequency:
- Automatic Frequency Search (AFS): Press the AFS button (or navigate through the menu) on the receiver. The system will scan for and select the clearest available frequency.
- Manual Frequency Selection: Use the navigation buttons on the receiver to manually select a desired frequency within the available groups.
- Synchronize Microphone: After selecting a frequency on the receiver, activate the infrared synchronization function (usually by pressing a SYNC button) and align the microphone's IR port with the receiver's IR sensor. The microphone will automatically update to the new frequency.
4.3 Operating Range
The system has a line-of-sight operating range of approximately 80 meters (260 feet). Obstacles, walls, and other wireless devices can reduce this range. For optimal performance, maintain a clear line of sight between the microphone and the receiver.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
Wipe the receiver and microphone with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners, solvents, or abrasive materials, as they may damage the finish or internal components.
5.2 Battery Replacement
When the microphone's battery indicator shows low power, replace the batteries immediately to avoid interruption during use. Always use fresh, high-quality AA batteries.
5.3 Storage
When not in use for extended periods, store the system in its carrying bag in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries from the microphone before long-term storage to prevent leakage.
6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No sound from receiver | Microphone off; low microphone battery; receiver off; incorrect frequency; audio cable disconnected; mixer/amp input issue. | Ensure microphone and receiver are on; replace microphone batteries; check frequency match; verify audio cable connections; check mixer/amp settings. |
| Interference or static | Other wireless devices on same frequency; too far from receiver; obstacles blocking signal. | Perform AFS to find a clear frequency; reduce distance between microphone and receiver; ensure clear line of sight. |
| Short operating range | Antennas not properly connected/positioned; environmental interference; low microphone battery. | Ensure antennas are securely connected and extended; avoid placing receiver near metal objects or other electronics; replace microphone batteries. |
| Microphone not synchronizing | IR ports not aligned; synchronization process not initiated correctly. | Ensure IR ports are closely aligned; re-initiate synchronization process as per manual. |
