5. Battery Management

Arlo VMS3330 cameras use non-rechargeable CR123 Lithium batteries. To access the battery compartment, slide the small switch on the camera body. While traveling, you can switch the battery to 'off' to conserve power. It is recommended to keep the battery on as a backup in case of a power outage.

6. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your Arlo cameras:

  • Cleaning: Gently wipe the camera lens and body with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Weather Resistance: The cameras are weather-resistant (IP65 rated) for outdoor use. However, extreme weather conditions may affect performance. Ensure the battery compartment is securely closed to maintain water resistance.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries promptly when the app indicates low power to avoid interruptions in monitoring.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Arlo system, consider the following:

  • Connectivity Issues: Ensure your base station is properly connected to your router and powered on. Check the distance between cameras and the base station; the wireless range is approximately 300+ feet line of sight. Obstructions like thick walls can reduce range.
  • Motion Detection Sensitivity: If you receive too many false alerts or miss events, adjust the motion detection sensitivity in the Arlo app settings.
  • Video Quality: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is stable and has sufficient bandwidth. Check the camera's battery level, as low battery can sometimes affect performance.
  • App Not Responding: Close and restart the Arlo app. If the issue persists, try reinstalling the app.
  • Camera Not Recording: Verify that the camera is armed and that motion detection is enabled in its settings. Check the schedule to ensure it's set to record during desired times.
