Setup
Sizing and Fit
The brace is designed to fit backs up to 46 inches in circumference. For larger sizes, up to 66 inches, utilize the included pair of extender straps. To determine the correct fit, wrap the brace around your lower back and secure the straps comfortably. If the brace does not meet or overlap sufficiently, attach the extender straps to achieve the desired fit.

Attaching the Brace
- Position the brace around your lower back, ensuring the central padded area covers the lumbar region.
- Bring the ends of the brace forward and secure them firmly around your waist using the hook-and-loop fasteners. Adjust for a snug, yet comfortable fit that allows for normal breathing.

Inserting the Gel Pack
The removable gel pack can be inserted into the designated pocket on the inside of the brace. Ensure the gel pack is properly prepared for either hot or cold therapy before insertion (see Operating Instructions).
Using the Compression Air Pump
The compression air pump connects to a valve on the brace. To inflate the internal air bladder for compression, attach the pump to the valve and squeeze the bulb repeatedly until the desired level of compression is achieved. To release air, press the small button on the pump's valve connector.

Operating Instructions
Hot Therapy Application
For hot therapy, heat the gel pack in a microwave. Follow these guidelines:
- Place the gel pack flat in the microwave.
- Heat for 30 seconds on high.
- Carefully remove and knead the pack to distribute heat.
- If more heat is desired, heat in additional 10-second intervals, kneading after each, until the desired temperature is reached. Do not overheat.
Cold Therapy Application
For cold therapy, chill the gel pack in a freezer or refrigerator:
- Place the gel pack in the freezer for at least 2 hours for optimal coldness.
- Alternatively, place in the refrigerator for a milder chill.

Compression Therapy
Once the brace is secured and the gel pack (if desired) is in place, use the air pump to inflate the internal bladder. Inflate until you feel firm, comfortable compression. Avoid over-inflating, which could cause discomfort or restrict circulation. Release air as needed for comfort or to remove the brace.
Care and Maintenance
Cleaning the Brace
The brace is washable and reusable. To clean, remove the gel pack and air pump. Hand wash the brace in cold water with mild soap. Air dry completely before reassembling or storing. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
Gel Pack Care
Wipe the gel pack clean with a damp cloth as needed. Store the gel pack at room temperature or in the refrigerator/freezer when not in use. Avoid puncturing or damaging the gel pack.
Troubleshooting
- Issue: Brace does not fit properly or is too small.
Solution: Ensure you are using the included extender straps if your waist circumference exceeds 46 inches. Adjust the hook-and-loop fasteners for a snug but comfortable fit. - Issue: Gel pack is not getting hot enough or cold enough.
Solution: For hot therapy, ensure you are heating in 10-second increments after the initial 30 seconds and kneading to distribute heat. For cold therapy, allow at least 2 hours in the freezer. Ensure the gel pack is not damaged. - Issue: Loss of compression or air pump not working.
Solution: Check that the air pump is securely connected to the valve on the brace. Inspect the air bladder within the brace for any punctures or leaks. Ensure the release button on the pump is not stuck. - Issue: Discomfort during use.
Solution: Loosen the brace slightly or release some air from the compression bladder. Ensure the gel pack is not too hot or too cold for your comfort. Discontinue use if discomfort persists.
