1. Introduction

The Reliance 510C Pro/Tran2 is a 50-amp, 10-circuit manual transfer switch designed to safely connect a portable generator to your home's electrical system. This unit allows you to power essential circuits during a utility power outage. It features integrated watt meters for monitoring power consumption. The Pro/Tran2 series is UL listed to UL standard 1008 and is suitable for use in accordance with Article 702 of the National Electrical Code ANSI/NFPA 70.

Installation of the Reliance 510C Pro/Tran2 transfer switch requires electrical expertise. It is strongly recommended that a licensed electrician perform the installation.

4.1 Mounting the Transfer Switch

The transfer switch should be mounted indoors, close to your existing main electrical panel. Ensure there is sufficient space for wiring and access to the circuit breakers and toggle switches.

4.2 Wiring Connections

The transfer switch connects to your main electrical panel and to an external generator inlet box (sold separately). The unit is pre-wired with flexible conduit containing the necessary conductors for connection to the main panel.

5. Operating Instructions

The 510C Pro/Tran2 allows you to manually switch selected circuits between utility (LINE) power and generator (GEN) power.
