Setup and Installation
The rack comes fully assembled. Follow these steps for proper installation on your vehicle.

Installation Steps:
- Position the Rack: Place the rack against the rear of your vehicle. The padded lower frame should rest on the bumper or lower trunk area, and the upper arms should rest on the top edge of the trunk or hatch.
- Attach Top Straps: Locate the two top straps. Hook the metal clips securely under the top edge of your trunk or hatch. Ensure the hooks are fully engaged and not just resting on the paint.
- Attach Side Straps: Locate the two side straps. Hook the metal clips securely to the side edges of your trunk or hatch. These provide lateral stability.
- Attach Bottom Straps: Locate the two bottom straps. Hook the metal clips securely under the bottom edge of your trunk or bumper. For vehicles with plastic bumpers or no lip, open the trunk/hatch slightly, place the hook inside, and then close the trunk/hatch to secure the hook internally.
- Tighten All Straps: Systematically tighten all six straps (top, side, and bottom) by pulling the loose ends. Tighten them evenly, alternating between straps, until the rack is firmly secured to the vehicle and does not move. The rack should be snug against the vehicle's surface.

Operating Instructions
Loading Bicycles:
- Prepare Bikes: Remove any loose items from bicycles (e.g., water bottles, pumps, bags).
- Lift and Position: Lift the first bicycle and place its top tube into the cradles on the rack arms. Ensure the bike is centered and stable.
- Secure with Tie-Downs: Use the individual tie-downs provided on the rack arms to secure the bicycle's frame. Wrap the strap around the bike frame and through the buckle, pulling it tight. Repeat for all bikes.
- Prevent Wheel Spin: Use additional bungee cords or straps (not included) to secure the front wheels of the bicycles to prevent them from spinning or swiveling and potentially contacting your vehicle during transit.
- Check Clearance: Ensure there is adequate clearance between the bicycles and your vehicle, and that the bikes do not obstruct taillights or license plates.

Unloading Bicycles:
- Release any additional straps or bungee cords securing the wheels.
- Unfasten the individual tie-downs from each bicycle.
- Carefully lift each bicycle off the rack.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Clean the rack with mild soap and water after each use, especially if exposed to dirt, salt, or road grime. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Strap Inspection: Regularly inspect all straps for fraying, cuts, or wear. Replace any damaged straps immediately.
- Hardware Check: Periodically check all bolts and fasteners to ensure they are tight.
- Storage: When not in use, fold the rack flat and store it in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Rack feels loose after installation. | Straps are not tightened sufficiently or evenly. | Re-tighten all six straps, pulling firmly and alternating between them until the rack is completely stable. |
| Bicycles sway during transit. | Bikes not properly secured with tie-downs; front wheels not stabilized. | Ensure individual tie-downs are tight. Use additional bungee cords to secure front wheels to prevent rotation. |
| Rack hooks are scratching vehicle paint. | Improper hook placement or lack of protective measures. | Ensure hooks are fully engaged and not rubbing. Consider applying electrical tape or protective film to contact points on the vehicle. |
| Cannot fit 3 bikes on the rack. | Bike frame geometry or size issues. | Some bike frames (e.g., step-through, full suspension) may require a bike adapter bar (sold separately). Adjust bike positions for optimal fit. |
