2. Safety Information

4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation

- Alkaline AA: 130 Lumens, 79 meters beam distance, 3.45 hours runtime.
- Rechargeable NiMH AA: 145 Lumens (approximate).
- Rechargeable Lithium 14500: 345 Lumens, 130 meters beam distance, 0.75 hours runtime.
- Unscrew the tail cap of the flashlight by turning it counter-clockwise.
- Insert one AA, NiMH, or 14500 battery with the positive (+) end facing towards the head of the flashlight.
- Screw the tail cap back on clockwise until it is securely tightened.

- To turn the flashlight ON, press the tail cap switch until it clicks.
- To turn the flashlight OFF, press the tail cap switch again until it clicks.

5.2 Focusing the Beam
The HX5 features Pure-Beam Focusing with a slide focus mechanism, allowing you to adjust the beam from a wide flood to a tight spot.
- To adjust the beam, simply slide the head of the flashlight forward or backward.
- Sliding the head forward will narrow the beam into a focused spot.
- Sliding the head backward will widen the beam into a broad flood.
