Front Panel
- Disc Tray: Insert Blu-ray discs, DVDs, or CDs.

4. Setup
4.1 Connecting to Your TV

- Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to an available HDMI IN port on your TV. Note the HDMI input number (e.g., HDMI 1, HDMI 2).
- Plug the power cord into the Blu-ray player's power input, then into a wall outlet.
4.2 Connecting to the Network
The BD-J5700 supports both wired (Ethernet) and wireless (Wi-Fi) network connections for accessing online content and firmware updates.
Wired Connection (Ethernet)
- Connect an Ethernet cable (not included) from your network router to the LAN port on the back of the Blu-ray player.
- The player will typically detect the wired connection automatically.
Wireless Connection (Wi-Fi)
- Turn on your TV and the Blu-ray player.
- Select the correct HDMI input on your TV.
- Navigate to the player's Settings menu.
- Select Network, then Network Settings.
- Choose Wireless and select your Wi-Fi network from the list.
- Enter your Wi-Fi password (security key) using the on-screen keyboard.
- Confirm the connection.
Note: If you experience poor Wi-Fi connectivity, consider using a wired Ethernet connection for more stable performance.
4.3 Initial Setup Wizard
Upon first power-on, the player will guide you through an initial setup process. Follow the on-screen prompts to:
- Select your preferred language.
- Configure network settings (if not already done).
- Set up time and date.
- Agree to terms and conditions for smart features.
Important: After completing the initial setup, it is recommended to power cycle the device (turn it off and then on again) to ensure all settings are applied correctly.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Playing Discs
- Press the Power button (⏻) on the player or remote control to turn on the device.
- Press the Eject button (⏏) to open the disc tray.
- Place a Blu-ray disc, DVD, or CD onto the disc tray with the label side facing up.
- Press the Eject button (⏏) again to close the tray.
- The player will automatically begin playback or display the disc menu. Use the remote control to navigate.
5.2 Using Smart Features and Apps
With a network connection, your BD-J5700 can access various online streaming services and apps.
- From the Home screen, navigate to the Smart Hub or Apps section.
- Select the desired application (e.g., Netflix, YouTube).
- Log in with your account credentials if required.
5.3 USB Media Playback
You can play media files (photos, music, videos) stored on a USB device.
- Insert a USB storage device into the USB port on the front panel.
