4. Setup

4.1 Connecting to Your TV

  1. Ensure your TV and Blu-ray player are turned off.
  2. Connect one end of an HDMI cable (not included) to the HDMI OUT port on the back of the Blu-ray player.
  3. Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to an available HDMI IN port on your TV. Note the HDMI input number (e.g., HDMI 1, HDMI 2).
  4. Plug the power cord into the Blu-ray player's power input, then into a wall outlet.

4.2 Connecting to the Network

The BD-J5700 supports both wired (Ethernet) and wireless (Wi-Fi) network connections for accessing online content and firmware updates.

Wired Connection (Ethernet)

  1. Connect an Ethernet cable (not included) from your network router to the LAN port on the back of the Blu-ray player.
  2. The player will typically detect the wired connection automatically.

Wireless Connection (Wi-Fi)

  1. Turn on your TV and the Blu-ray player.
  2. Select the correct HDMI input on your TV.
  3. Navigate to the player's Settings menu.
  4. Select Network, then Network Settings.
  5. Choose Wireless and select your Wi-Fi network from the list.
  6. Enter your Wi-Fi password (security key) using the on-screen keyboard.
  7. Confirm the connection.

Note: If you experience poor Wi-Fi connectivity, consider using a wired Ethernet connection for more stable performance.

5.1 Playing Discs

  1. Press the Power button () on the player or remote control to turn on the device.

  3. Place a Blu-ray disc, DVD, or CD onto the disc tray with the label side facing up.
  4. Press the Eject button () again to close the tray.
  5. The player will automatically begin playback or display the disc menu. Use the remote control to navigate.
