Battery Installation & Charging
The camera uses a rechargeable Li-ion battery. Ensure the battery is fully charged before first use.
- Open the waterproof battery/memory card compartment cover located on the bottom of the camera. Ensure the lock is disengaged.
- Insert the battery with the correct orientation, matching the contacts.
- Close the compartment cover securely and engage the lock to maintain waterproof integrity.
- Connect the camera to a USB power source using the provided USB cable to charge the battery. The charging indicator will illuminate.

Memory Card Insertion
The camera supports SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards. A memory card is required to store photos and videos.
- Open the waterproof battery/memory card compartment cover.
- Insert the memory card into the designated slot with the contacts facing the correct direction until it clicks into place.
- Close the compartment cover securely and engage the lock.
Powering On/Off
Press and hold the Power button (located on the top of the camera) to turn the camera on or off.
Basic Operation
Taking Photos
To capture a still image:
- Point the camera at your subject.
- Press the Shutter button (large button on top) halfway down to focus.
- Press the Shutter button all the way down to take the picture.
Recording Videos
The COOLPIX S33 supports Full HD (1080/30p) video recording.
- Press the dedicated Movie Record button (red button on top) to start recording.
- Press the Movie Record button again to stop recording.
Using the Display
The camera features a 2.7-inch LCD display on the back for framing shots and reviewing media. Navigate menus and settings using the directional pad and 'OK' button.

Zoom Function

Viewing & Transferring Media
Viewing on Camera
Press the Playback button (triangle icon) to enter playback mode and review your photos and videos on the LCD screen. Use the directional pad to scroll through your media.
Transferring to Computer
You can transfer your photos and videos to a computer using one of two methods:
- USB Connection: Connect the camera to your computer using the provided USB cable. The camera will appear as a removable drive, allowing you to copy files directly.
- Memory Card Reader: Remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into a compatible memory card reader connected to your computer.
