3. Setup
3.1. Charging the Battery
- Insert the EN-EL19 Rechargeable Li-ion Battery into the EH-71P Charging AC Adapter.
- Plug the EH-71P Charging AC Adapter into a power outlet.
- The charging indicator will illuminate during charging and turn off when complete.
3.2. Inserting the Battery and SD Card
- Open the battery/SD card compartment cover on the camera.
- Insert the charged EN-EL19 battery, ensuring correct orientation as indicated inside the compartment.
- Insert a compatible SD, SDHC, or SDXC memory card into the card slot until it clicks into place.
- Close the compartment cover securely.
3.3. Attaching the Camera Strap

4. Operating the Camera
4.1. Power On/Off
Press the ON/OFF button located on the top of the camera to power it on or off. The lens will extend when powered on.
4.2. Taking Photos
- Point the camera at your subject.
- Press the shutter-release button halfway down to focus. The focus area will illuminate green when focus is achieved.
- Press the shutter-release button all the way down to take the picture.
4.3. Recording Videos
Press the dedicated Movie Record button to start and stop video recording. The camera records Full HD 1080/60i videos with stereo sound.
