Battery and Memory Card Installation:
The camera uses an EN-EL12 rechargeable Li-ion battery. To install or remove the battery and memory card, locate the waterproof compartment on the side or bottom of the camera. Ensure the compartment is dry before opening. Insert the battery and a compatible SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card (up to 128 GB supported) into their respective slots. Close the compartment securely, ensuring the seal is free of debris to maintain waterproof integrity.
Charge the battery using the provided EH-71P Charging AC Adapter and UC-E21 USB Cable. The camera can also be charged by connecting it to a computer via the USB cable.
Operating Instructions
Power On/Off:
Press the power button located on the top of the camera to turn it on or off.
Taking Photos:
- Turn on the camera.
- Frame your shot using the 3-inch OLED display.
- Press the shutter button halfway to focus, then press fully to capture the image.
- Use the zoom controls (W/T buttons) to adjust the 5x optical zoom or activate Dynamic Fine Zoom for up to 10x magnification.
Recording Videos:
- Press the dedicated movie-record button to start recording Full HD 1080p video.
- Press the button again to stop recording.

Waterproof and Shockproof Care:
