Important Safety Information

Always follow basic safety precautions when using electrical appliances. This unit is designed to operate within an "Always Safe Temperature Range" for continuous use. For external use only. Consult a physician or physical therapist before use if you have specific medical conditions.

  • Do not operate the unit without paraffin wax.
  • Ensure the unit is placed on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets.
  • Unplug the unit before cleaning or adding/removing wax.
  • Do not reuse paraffin wax that has been removed from the skin, as it contains impurities.

Setup

  1. Unpack the Unit: Carefully remove the Therabath unit and all accessories from the packaging. Place the unit on a flat, secure, and heat-resistant surface.
  2. Add Paraffin Wax: Pour 6 to 9 pounds of Therabath refill paraffin wax into the tank. The TB6 model has a 6-9 lb. wax capacity.
  3. Insert Grille: Place the white plastic grille on top of the unmelted paraffin wax.
  4. Position Lid: Rest the lid on top of the grille. The paraffin will compact as it melts.
  5. Connect Power: Attach the IEC receptacle cord to the unit and plug it into a standard electrical outlet. The paraffin will fully melt in approximately 6-8 hours with a 6 lb. paraffin refill.

Operation: Applying Paraffin Wax

Once the paraffin wax is fully melted and at a comfortable temperature, you can begin your thermotherapy treatment. Follow the "3-2-1 Rule" for optimal application:

  1. Dip 3 Times: Slowly dip the desired body part (hand, foot, elbow) into the melted paraffin wax. Allow the wax to solidify slightly between each dip. Repeat this process three times to build a thick, even layer of wax.
  2. Wrap and Relax 2 Minutes: After the third dip, immediately place a plastic liner (provided or similar) over the waxed area. Then, insert the wrapped area into an insulated mitt or bootie. Relax for approximately 2 minutes to allow the heat to penetrate and provide therapeutic benefits.
  3. One Perfect Peel: After relaxing, remove the mitt/bootie and plastic liner. The wax should peel off easily in one piece, leaving your skin moisturized and soft. Dispose of the used wax and liner.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and hygiene of your Therabath unit.

  1. Unplug and Cool: Unplug the unit and allow the paraffin to harden completely overnight.
  2. Remove Hardened Wax: Once the wax is solid, plug the unit back in for approximately 10 minutes. This will slightly melt the edges, making it easier to remove the block of wax.
  3. Extract Wax: Lay out several layers of paper towels. Turn the unit upside down and gently shake to release the hardened wax block.
  4. Clean Interior: Wipe the interior of the tank with a soft, dry cloth to remove any remaining residue. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water.

Troubleshooting and FAQs

  • Unit Not Heating: Ensure the unit is properly plugged into a functional electrical outlet. Verify that the power indicator light is on. If the unit still does not heat, contact customer support.
  • Wax Not Melting Completely: Allow sufficient time for the wax to melt. A 6 lb. refill typically takes 6-8 hours. Ensure the lid is properly placed to retain heat.
  • Paraffin Reuse: It is not recommended to reuse paraffin wax that has been removed from the skin, as it collects sweat and dry skin, which can lead to sediment buildup and require more frequent cleaning.
  • Professional Use: While designed for portability for professional settings, the Therabath is also safe and suitable for home use.
  • Consulting a Professional: If you have specific health concerns or questions about thermotherapy, consult a physician or physical therapist before using this device.
