2. Safety Information

4.1. Display Elements

5.2. Wiring
The COMPUTHERM Q7 thermostat requires two AA batteries for power and connects to your heating/cooling system via two wires.
- Ensure the main power supply to your heating/cooling system is OFF.
- Connect the two wires from your boiler or heating/cooling system to connectors 1 and 2 on the thermostat's back plate. The polarity of these connections does not matter.
- Connector 3 is typically not used for standard installations.
- Once wired, carefully attach the front panel of the thermostat to the back plate.

5.3. Battery Installation
The thermostat is powered by 2 AA batteries.
- Open the battery compartment on the back of the thermostat.
- Insert two AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment.
6. Initial Setup
6.1. Resetting the Thermostat
If you need to reset the thermostat to factory settings, locate the small black 'Reset' button inside the battery compartment. Press and hold this button for approximately 5 seconds. The display will clear and reset.

- After approximately 5 seconds, the new temperature will be set. The clock display will alternate between the current time and 'Time Left', showing the duration until the next programmed period.
- This manual setting will automatically cancel when the next programmed period begins.
- To cancel manual mode before the next program, press the SET button.
7.2. Hold Temperature (Permanent Manual Mode)
To maintain a specific temperature indefinitely:
- Use the + or - buttons to set your desired temperature.
- Press the HOLD button. A key symbol will appear on the display.
- The thermostat will maintain this temperature until you manually cancel it.
- To cancel the hold function, press the SET button.
7.3. Programming Daily Schedules (P0-P6)
The thermostat allows for 6 programmable periods (P0 to P6) per day. Program P0 is fixed at 00:00 and only its temperature can be adjusted.
- Press and hold the SET button, then simultaneously press the PROG button. The day of the week will start flashing.
- Use the + or - buttons to select the day(s) you wish to program (you can select multiple days if they are all flashing).
- Press PROG. The desired temperature for Program 0 (P0) will flash (time is fixed at 00:00).
- Use the + or - buttons to set the desired temperature for P0.
- Press PROG to move to Program 1 (P1). The hour for P1 will flash.
- Use the + or - buttons to set the desired hour for P1.
- Press PROG. The temperature for P1 will flash.
- Use the + or - buttons to set the desired temperature for P1.
- Repeat steps 6-8 for Programs P2 through P6.
- After setting all desired programs, press the SET button to save and exit programming mode.
Deleting a Program Interval
To delete a specific program interval (P1-P6), set its time to ' - - : - - ' (which appears when you set the time to 00:00 during programming). Then press SET to save.
7.4. Copying Programs
To copy program settings from one day to another:
- Press and hold the COPY button for 3 seconds until the day of the week starts flashing.
- Use the + or - buttons to select the source day (the day you want to copy from).
- Press COPY. The selected day will stop flashing.
- Use the + or - buttons to select the destination day(s) (the day(s) you want to copy to).
- Press COPY to apply the copy. Repeat for additional destination days if needed.
- Press the SET button to confirm and save the copied programs.
7.5. Short-Term Program (1-9 Hours)
This function allows you to set a temporary temperature for a specific number of hours (1 to 9).
- Use the + or - buttons to set the desired temperature for the short-term period.
- Press the DAY button. A suitcase symbol will appear, and the hour display will flash.
- Use the + or - buttons to select the number of hours (1 to 9).
- Wait for approximately 5 seconds for the setting to save automatically. The clock display will alternate between the current time and 'Time Left', showing the remaining duration.
- This program will automatically cancel after the set hours, and the thermostat will revert to its regular schedule.
- To cancel this function manually, press the SET button.
7.6. Holiday Program (1-99 Days)
This function allows you to set a specific temperature for an extended period (1 to 99 days), useful when you are away from home.
- Use the + or - buttons to set the desired temperature for your holiday period.
- Press and hold the HOLD button for 3 seconds. Initially, a key symbol will appear, then a suitcase symbol will appear, and the day display will flash.
- Use the + or - buttons to select the number of days (1 to 99).
- Wait for approximately 5 seconds for the setting to save automatically. The clock display will alternate between the current time and 'Time Left', showing the remaining days.
- This program will automatically cancel after the set days, and the thermostat will revert to its regular schedule.
- To cancel this function manually, press the SET button.
7.7. HEAT/COOL Mode Selection
The thermostat can operate in either heating or cooling mode.
- Press and hold the SET button, then simultaneously press the COPY button. 'HEAT' or 'COOL' will appear on the display.
- Use the + or - buttons to switch between 'HEAT' (for heating systems) and 'COOL' (for air conditioning systems).

- In HEAT mode: The connected appliance (e.g., boiler) will activate when the room temperature falls below the desired temperature.

- S:3: Sensitivity of ±0.3°C. For a target of 20°C, heating activates at 19.7°C and deactivates at 20.3°C.
7.10. Temperature Calibration
You can calibrate the thermostat's temperature reading to match a reference thermometer or to compensate for its location.
- Press the DAY button, then immediately press the HOLD button.
- Use the + or - buttons to adjust the temperature offset (e.g., -1.0°C to make the thermostat read 1°C lower).

7.11. Pump Protection Function
