Operating Instructions
Powering On and Off
The Dyson V6 Absolute operates with a trigger mechanism. Press and hold the trigger to activate suction. Release the trigger to turn off the vacuum. This design conserves battery power, using it only when cleaning.
Using Cleaner Heads
- Soft Roller Cleaner Head: Ideal for hard floors. It is engineered to remove both large debris and fine dust simultaneously without scratching delicate surfaces.
- Direct-Drive Cleaner Head: Designed for carpets and rugs. Its stiff nylon bristles drive deep into carpet pile to remove ground-in dirt.

Max Mode
For tougher tasks, press the 'MAX' button located on the top of the motor unit to engage maximum suction power. Note that using Max mode will reduce battery run time.
Converting to Handheld Mode
To convert the vacuum into a handheld unit, press the red release button at the top of the extension wand and pull the wand away from the main motor unit. Attach desired tools (e.g., crevice tool, combination tool, mini motorized tool) directly to the motor unit for cleaning upholstery, car interiors, or high-reach areas.

Battery Life
The Dyson V6 Absolute provides up to 20 minutes of fade-free suction in normal mode. Battery life will be shorter when using the Max mode or motorized tools.
Maintenance
Emptying the Dust Bin
Empty the dust bin when the dirt reaches the MAX level mark. To empty, hold the vacuum over a trash can, then slide the red dirt removal button down to release the bin flap. Shake out the contents. For thorough cleaning, the clear bin can be detached by sliding the red dirt removal button all the way down while tilting the clear bin away from the motor.
Washing the Filter
The Dyson V6 Absolute features a washable HEPA filter located at the top of the motor unit. For optimal performance, wash the filter at least once a month with cold water. Ensure the filter is completely dry (allow at least 24 hours) before reinserting it into the vacuum.
Clearing Blockages
If suction power drops, check for blockages in the cleaner head, wand, and main motor unit. Disconnect the vacuum from the charger before inspecting. Remove any debris or obstructions carefully.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No power / Vacuum not turning on | Battery not charged; Trigger not pressed; Battery issue | Ensure battery is fully charged (3.5 hours minimum). Press and hold the trigger firmly. If issues persist, contact Dyson support. |
| Loss of suction | Dust bin full; Filter dirty/blocked; Blockage in cleaner head/wand/motor unit | Empty the dust bin. Wash and thoroughly dry the filter. Check for and clear any blockages. |
| Cleaner head not spinning | Blockage in brush bar; Electrical contact issue | Remove any hair or debris from the brush bar. Ensure the cleaner head is securely attached and electrical contacts are clean. |
| Short battery run time | Using Max mode; Battery degradation | Reduce use of Max mode. Ensure battery is fully charged. Battery life naturally decreases over time; consider a replacement if significantly degraded. |
