- Locate the reset button or lever, usually on the side or bottom of the lock.
- Using a pen or small pointed object, press and hold the reset button/lever.

- Press the two halves together firmly until they click and lock into place.
- Scramble the combination dials to secure the lock.
Removing the Trigger Lock
- Align the combination dials to your preset 3-digit code.
- Press the release button/lever to disengage the locking mechanism.
- Carefully separate the two halves of the lock from the firearm.
Maintenance
The Bulldog Vaults BD8000 Trigger Lock requires minimal maintenance. Keep the lock clean and free of debris. If the combination dials become stiff, a small amount of graphite lubricant can be applied. Do not use oil-based lubricants as they can attract dirt and grime.
Troubleshooting
- Lock will not open: Ensure the combination is correctly aligned. Double-check that you are using the correct 3-digit code. If you have recently reset the combination, ensure you are using the new code.
- Lock feels loose on firearm: The lock features an adjustable ratchet mechanism. Ensure it is fully closed and engaged. The cushion pads should provide a snug fit. This lock is designed to fit most firearms, but some variations may occur.
- Dials are hard to turn: Apply a small amount of graphite lubricant to the dials. Avoid forcing the dials.
