Operating Instructions
Standard Brewing
- Fill Water Reservoir: Open the water reservoir lid and fill with fresh, cold water to your desired level (up to 5 cups / 1.0 L).
- Add Coffee Grounds: Place a #4 cone-shaped paper filter or a reusable filter (not included) into the filter basket. Add your preferred amount of medium-ground coffee. For optimal results, use approximately 28-36 grams (5-6 tablespoons) of coffee per 1.0 L of water.
- Assemble: Place the filter basket onto the thermal carafe, ensuring it is seated correctly. Place the thermal carafe with the filter basket onto the heating plate. Ensure the showerhead is properly positioned over the filter basket.
- Start Brewing: Press the ON/OFF switch. The indicator light will illuminate, and brewing will begin.
- Serve: Once brewing is complete, the coffee maker will automatically shut off. Carefully remove the filter basket and discard the used grounds. Secure the lid onto the thermal carafe to maintain coffee temperature.
Optional Pre-Infusion Mode (Bloom for Richer Taste)
The pre-infusion mode allows the coffee grounds to bloom before full brewing, enhancing flavor. To activate:
- Ensure the coffee maker is OFF.
- Press and hold the ON/OFF switch for approximately 5 seconds until the indicator light flashes. This indicates pre-infusion mode is active.
- Proceed with standard brewing steps (fill water, add grounds, assemble).
- Press the ON/OFF switch to start brewing. The light will continue to flash during the pre-infusion and brewing cycle.
- To deactivate pre-infusion mode, press and hold the ON/OFF switch again for 5 seconds until the light stops flashing, or unplug the unit.

Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and coffee taste.
- Daily Cleaning: After each use, wash the thermal carafe, carafe lid, filter basket, and showerhead in warm, soapy water. These parts are dishwasher-safe (top rack recommended). Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water.
- Descaling: Mineral deposits can build up over time, affecting performance. Descale your coffee maker every 1-3 months, depending on water hardness. Use a commercial descaling solution designed for coffee makers, following the product's instructions. Typically, this involves filling the reservoir with the solution and running a brew cycle, followed by several cycles with plain water to rinse.

Troubleshooting
- Coffee not brewing: Ensure the unit is plugged in, the ON/OFF switch is pressed, and the water reservoir has sufficient water.
- Coffee tastes weak or bitter: Adjust coffee-to-water ratio, check coffee grind size (medium grind is recommended), or ensure descaling is performed regularly.
- Water leaking: Ensure the filter basket and thermal carafe are correctly seated. Check for any cracks or damage to the carafe or reservoir.
- Brewing is slow: Descale the coffee maker to remove mineral buildup that can impede water flow.
