Designed for compatibility with Dewalt DW9050 and DW945 power tools, these batteries offer reliable performance and extended tool life. Please read this manual thoroughly before first use and retain it for future reference.

Safety Information

Your safety is paramount. Please observe the following warnings and precautions to prevent injury or damage to the battery and tool.

  • Do Not Disassemble: Never attempt to open or disassemble the battery pack. Internal components are not user-serviceable and can be hazardous.
  • Use Only with Original Charger: Always use the battery with its original or a compatible charger specifically designed for Ni-Mh 12V battery packs. Using an incompatible charger may cause damage, overheating, or fire.
  • Inspect for Damage: If the battery pack is cracked, damaged, or shows signs of leakage, do not insert it into a charger or tool. Dispose of it properly according to local regulations.
  • Do Not Incinerate: Never dispose of batteries in fire. They may explode.
  • Avoid Short Circuits: Do not short-circuit the battery terminals. This can cause severe burns, fire, or damage to the battery.
  • Temperature Control: Do not expose the battery to extreme temperatures (above 60°C / 140°F or below -20°C / -4°F). Store in a cool, dry place.
  • Water Exposure: Keep the battery away from water and moisture.
  • Children and Pets: Keep batteries out of reach of children and pets.
  • Built-in Protection: These batteries feature built-in circuit protection to prevent overheating, short circuits, extended time charging, and detection of damaged batteries. However, these features do not negate the need for careful handling.

Setup

Charging the Battery

Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the battery pack. Ensure you are using a charger compatible with 12V Ni-Mh batteries, such as the original Dewalt charger for DW9050/DW945 series tools.

  1. Connect your compatible battery charger to a power outlet.
  2. Align the battery pack with the charging port on the charger.
  3. Slide the battery pack firmly into the charger until it clicks into place.
  4. Observe the charger's indicator lights for charging status. Refer to your charger's manual for specific light patterns.
  5. Once fully charged, remove the battery from the charger. Avoid leaving batteries on the charger for extended periods after they are fully charged.

  1. Ensure the power tool is turned off and disconnected from any power source.
  2. Locate the battery slot on your Dewalt DW9050 or DW945 tool.
  3. Align the battery pack with the slot, ensuring the terminals match the tool's contacts.
  4. Slide the battery pack firmly into the tool until it locks securely into place. You should hear a click.
  5. To remove the battery, press the release latches (if present on your tool) and slide the battery out.

Operating Instructions

Once the battery is fully charged and securely installed in your compatible Dewalt power tool, it is ready for use. These batteries are designed to provide consistent power for your drilling, driving, or other applications.

  • Operate your tool as per its original instruction manual.
  • The battery's 2000mAh capacity provides ample runtime for typical tasks.
  • When the tool's performance begins to diminish, it indicates that the battery charge is low. Recharge the battery promptly.
  • Avoid completely draining the battery, as this can reduce its overall lifespan.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance will extend the life and performance of your ExpertPower Ni-Mh battery packs.

  • Cleaning: Keep the battery terminals clean and free of dirt or debris. Use a dry cloth to wipe them if necessary.
  • Storage: Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and moisture. For long-term storage, it is best to store Ni-Mh batteries with a partial charge (around 40-50%) rather than fully charged or completely discharged.
  • Regular Use: If storing for extended periods, it is advisable to cycle the battery (charge and discharge) every few months to maintain its capacity.
  • Avoid Impact: Do not drop or subject the battery to strong impacts.
