Setup and Installation
This fixture requires hardwired installation. Professional installation is recommended.
- Turn Off Power: Before starting, ensure the power to the circuit at the main fuse box or circuit breaker is completely OFF.
- Prepare Mounting: Attach the mounting plate to the junction box in the ceiling using the provided screws. Ensure it is securely fastened.
- Wire Connections: Connect the fixture's wires to the corresponding house wires using the provided wire nuts. Connect the black (live) wire from the fixture to the black (live) wire from the ceiling. Connect the white (neutral) wire from the fixture to the white (neutral) wire from the ceiling. Connect the green or bare copper (ground) wire from the fixture to the green or bare copper (ground) wire from the ceiling. Ensure all connections are tight and secure.
- Mount Fixture: Carefully tuck the wires into the junction box. Align the fixture canopy with the mounting plate and secure it with the decorative nuts or screws provided.
- Install Bulb: Insert one (1) A19 medium base (E26) incandescent bulb, up to 100 watts (not included), into the socket. Do not exceed the maximum wattage.
- Restore Power: Once installation is complete, restore power at the circuit breaker.

Operating Instructions
The Elk Home Rutherford Pendant operates via a standard wall switch connected to the fixture's electrical circuit. Simply toggle the wall switch to turn the light ON or OFF.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: To clean the fixture, ensure the power is off and the fixture is cool. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or polishes as they may damage the finish.
- Bulb Replacement: Always turn off the power at the circuit breaker and allow the bulb to cool before replacing. Unscrew the old bulb and screw in a new A19 medium base (E26) incandescent bulb, not exceeding 100 watts.
