5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Cooking Rice
- Measure Rice: Use the provided measuring cup to measure the desired amount of rice. One cup of uncooked rice typically yields about 2-3 cups of cooked rice.
- Rinse Rice (Optional): Rinse the rice under cold running water until the water runs clear. This helps remove excess starch.
- Add Water: Place the rinsed rice into the removable inner pot. Add the appropriate amount of water. A common ratio is 1 cup of rice to 2 cups of water, but this may vary based on rice type and desired consistency. Refer to the rice packaging for specific recommendations.
- Place Inner Pot: Ensure the exterior of the inner pot is dry, then place it into the main unit of the rice cooker.
- Close Lid: Place the glass lid securely on the rice cooker.
- Connect Power: Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet.
- Start Cooking: Press the 'Cook' switch down. The 'Cook' indicator light will illuminate, indicating that cooking has started.
- Automatic Keep Warm: Once the rice is cooked, the rice cooker will automatically switch to 'Keep Warm' mode. The 'Warm' indicator light will illuminate. For best results, allow the rice to rest in 'Keep Warm' mode for 5-10 minutes before serving.
- Serve: Use the provided rice spatula to fluff and serve the rice.

- Prepare Food: Place the food to be steamed into the steam basket.
- Assemble: Place the inner pot with water into the main unit, then carefully place the steam basket on top of the inner pot.
- Close Lid: Cover with the glass lid.
- Start Steaming: Plug in the appliance and press the 'Cook' switch down.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance
Proper cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity of your rice cooker.
- Unplug and Cool: Always unplug the rice cooker from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Inner Pot, Lid, and Accessories: The removable inner pot, glass lid, measuring cup, rice spatula, and steam basket should be washed by hand with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Do not use abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads, as these can damage the non-stick coating.
- Main Unit: Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid. Ensure no water enters the electrical components.
- Storage: Once clean and dry, store the rice cooker in a cool, dry place. The inner pot and accessories can be stored inside the main unit for compact storage.

7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your rice cooker, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Rice is too hard/undercooked: Ensure the correct rice-to-water ratio was used. Add a small amount of extra water and cook for a few more minutes if necessary.
- Rice is too soft/mushy: Reduce the amount of water used for the next batch. Ensure rice is not over-rinsed, which can absorb too much water.
- Rice sticks to the bottom: Ensure the inner pot's non-stick coating is intact. Use the provided rice spatula to avoid scratching. A thin layer of oil can be added to the pot before adding rice and water.
- Cooker does not turn on: Check if the power cord is securely plugged into both the appliance and the wall outlet. Ensure the 'Cook' switch is pressed down.
- Steam escaping excessively from the lid: Ensure the lid is properly seated and not damaged.
If the problem persists, please contact customer support.
