4. Maintenance

4.1. Cleaning

Regularly clean the camera body with a soft, dry cloth. For the lens and sensor, use specialized cleaning tools and solutions designed for camera optics. Avoid touching the lens or sensor directly with your fingers. Keep the camera body cap and lens caps on when not in use to prevent dust accumulation.

4.2. Storage

When not in use for extended periods, store the camera in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove the battery before long-term storage. Use a desiccant packet in the camera bag to absorb moisture.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Nikon D5500, consider the following common solutions:

  • Camera not turning on: Ensure the battery is fully charged and correctly inserted.
  • Images are blurry: Check focus settings, ensure the lens is clean, and use a faster shutter speed or tripod in low light.
  • Memory card error: Reinsert the memory card, try a different card, or format the card (note: formatting erases all data).
  • Wi-Fi connection issues: Ensure Wi-Fi is enabled on both the camera and your smart device. Check network settings.

For more complex issues, refer to the full user manual on the Nikon website or contact Nikon customer support.
