Setup

  1. Unpack the Bin: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Install Batteries:
    • Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the sensor lid.
    • Open the battery cover.
    • Insert the required number of D-size batteries (not included) according to the polarity indicators (+/-).
    • Close the battery cover securely.

  3. Attach the Lid: Place the sensor lid securely onto the top of the waste bin body. Ensure it is properly aligned.
  4. Insert Bin Bag: Place a standard 50L trash bag into the bin. Use the included bin bag holder ring to secure the bag in place, tucking the edges neatly.
  5. Power On: Locate the power switch on the back or side of the lid and switch it to the "ON" position. The sensor will now be active.

Operating Instructions

Automatic Sensor Operation

The waste bin is equipped with an infrared motion sensor for hands-free operation.

  • Opening: Approach the sensor area (typically above the lid) with your hand or an object. The lid will automatically open.
  • Closing: The lid will automatically close after a few seconds of inactivity (typically 5-7 seconds) once the object is removed from the sensor range.

Manual Operation (Open/Close Buttons)

For extended opening or manual control, use the "OPEN" and "CLOSE" buttons on the sensor panel.

  • OPEN Button: Press the "OPEN" button to keep the lid open indefinitely. The lid will remain open until the "CLOSE" button is pressed.
  • CLOSE Button: Press the "CLOSE" button to manually close the lid. This will also reactivate the automatic sensor function.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Exterior: Wipe the stainless steel body with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent. Dry thoroughly to prevent water spots. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scourers.
  • Cleaning the Lid: The sensor lid should only be wiped with a damp cloth. Do not submerge it in water. Ensure the sensor window is clean and free of dust or debris for optimal performance.
  • Changing Batteries: Replace batteries when the lid's operation becomes slow or inconsistent. Always replace all batteries at the same time with new ones of the same type.
  • Bin Bag Holder: Periodically clean the bin bag holder ring to remove any residue.
