3. Setup

3.1 Unpacking and Initial Cleaning

1. Remove all packaging materials and protective films from the appliance.
2. Clean the thermal carafe and its lid, and the removable filter holder with warm water and a mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly.
3. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth.
4. Before first use, operate the coffee maker with clean water (without coffee) at least twice to rinse the internal components.

3.2 Setting Water Hardness

The appliance features a water hardness setting to optimize the descaling cycle. Refer to your local water supplier for information on your water hardness level.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Brewing Coffee

1. Open the swivel filter holder and insert a Melitta 1x4 coffee filter.
2. Add the desired amount of ground coffee into the filter. A general guideline is 6-8 grams of coffee per cup (125ml).
3. Fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water up to the desired level, using the dual graduation marks for 10 large cups (125ml) or 15 small cups (85ml).
4. Ensure the thermal carafe is placed correctly on the warming plate and its lid is securely closed.
5. Press the Power button (⏻) to start the brewing process. The indicator light will illuminate.
6. The coffee maker will automatically shut off after brewing is complete.

4.2 Setting the Timer Function

The timer allows you to program the coffee maker to start brewing at a specific time.

1. First, set the current time using the 'h' (hour) and 'm' (minute) buttons.
2. Prepare the coffee maker as described in section 4.1 (add filter, coffee, and water).
3. Press and hold the TIMER button until the display flashes.
4. Use the 'h' and 'm' buttons to set the desired start time for brewing.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Daily Cleaning

• After each use, remove and discard the used coffee filter.
• Rinse the filter holder and thermal carafe with warm water. The swivel filter holder is dishwasher-safe.
• Wipe the exterior of the appliance with a damp cloth.
• Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or scouring pads.

5.2 Descaling Program

1. When the descaling indicator illuminates, it's time to descale the appliance.
