3. Setup
3.1 Unpacking and Initial Cleaning
- Remove all packaging materials and protective films from the appliance.
- Clean the thermal carafe and its lid, and the removable filter holder with warm water and a mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly.
- Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth.
- Before first use, operate the coffee maker with clean water (without coffee) at least twice to rinse the internal components.
3.2 Setting Water Hardness
The appliance features a water hardness setting to optimize the descaling cycle. Refer to your local water supplier for information on your water hardness level.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Brewing Coffee
- Open the swivel filter holder and insert a Melitta 1x4 coffee filter.
- Add the desired amount of ground coffee into the filter. A general guideline is 6-8 grams of coffee per cup (125ml).
- Fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water up to the desired level, using the dual graduation marks for 10 large cups (125ml) or 15 small cups (85ml).
- Ensure the thermal carafe is placed correctly on the warming plate and its lid is securely closed.
- Press the Power button (⏻) to start the brewing process. The indicator light will illuminate.
- The coffee maker will automatically shut off after brewing is complete.

4.2 Setting the Timer Function
The timer allows you to program the coffee maker to start brewing at a specific time.

- First, set the current time using the 'h' (hour) and 'm' (minute) buttons.
- Prepare the coffee maker as described in section 4.1 (add filter, coffee, and water).
- Press and hold the TIMER button until the display flashes.
- Use the 'h' and 'm' buttons to set the desired start time for brewing.
- Press the TIMER button briefly again to activate the timer. A small timer icon will appear on the display.
- The coffee maker will start brewing automatically at the programmed time.
4.3 Adjusting Aroma Strength
The aroma selector allows you to customize the intensity of your coffee, from mild to strong.
- Locate the aroma selector dial, usually near the filter holder.
- Turn the dial to your preferred setting before starting the brewing process.
4.4 Using the Thermal Carafe
The double-walled thermal carafe keeps your coffee warm for up to 2 hours without a heating plate, preserving its flavor.

- Ensure the carafe lid is securely closed to maintain temperature.
- The carafe is designed for one-hand operation for easy pouring.
- Do not place the thermal carafe on a stove or in a microwave.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Daily Cleaning
- After each use, remove and discard the used coffee filter.
- Rinse the filter holder and thermal carafe with warm water. The swivel filter holder is dishwasher-safe.
- Wipe the exterior of the appliance with a damp cloth.
- Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or scouring pads.
5.2 Descaling Program
Regular descaling is crucial for the longevity of your coffee maker and for maintaining optimal coffee taste. The appliance features a descaling indicator.
- When the descaling indicator illuminates, it's time to descale the appliance.
- Use a commercially available descaling solution suitable for coffee makers, following the manufacturer's instructions.
- Fill the water reservoir with the descaling solution as instructed.
- Press the CALC button to start the descaling program.
- After the program is complete, run the coffee maker with clean water at least twice to rinse out any descaling residue.
