4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

The scale requires 2 AAA batteries (not always included). To install or replace batteries:

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On/Off

  • To turn on the scale, press the ON/OFF button. The display will light up and show "8888" then "0.0" or "0.00" indicating it is ready for use.
  • To turn off the scale, press and hold the ON/OFF button for a few seconds. The scale will also automatically shut off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery life.

5.2 Weighing an Item

  1. Ensure the scale is powered on and displaying "0.0" or "0.00".
  2. Securely attach the item you wish to weigh to the weighing strap or hook.
  3. Lift the scale by its handle, ensuring the item hangs freely and is not touching the ground or any other surface.
  4. Hold the scale steady. The display will show the weight of the item. Once the reading stabilizes, it may automatically lock (indicated by a "HOLD" icon or similar).
  5. Lower the scale and remove the item.

5.3 Tare Function (Zeroing)

The tare function allows you to subtract the weight of a container or attachment, so only the net weight of the contents is measured.

  1. Turn on the scale.
  2. Hang the empty container or attachment (e.g., an empty bag) onto the scale.
  3. Wait for the weight to stabilize.
  4. Press the UNIT/TARE button (or a dedicated TARE button if present). The display will reset to "0.0" or "0.00".
  5. Now, place the items you wish to weigh into the container. The display will show only the weight of the items.

6. Unit Conversion

To switch between measurement units (pounds and kilograms):

  • With the scale powered on and displaying "0.0" or a weight, press the UNIT button (often combined with TARE).
  • The display will cycle between "lb" (pounds) and "kg" (kilograms). Select your desired unit.

7. Maintenance and Care
