1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, configuration, and operation of the Yeastar NeoGate TG100 VoIP GSM Gateway. The TG100 is designed to connect GSM networks to VoIP networks, enabling cost-effective communication solutions for businesses and individuals. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the device to ensure proper setup and functionality.
2. Product Overview
The Yeastar NeoGate TG100 is a compact and efficient VoIP GSM gateway that facilitates two-way communication between GSM and SIP/IAX2 protocols. It features one GSM channel, supporting various network types and codecs, and includes essential network functionalities like DHCP, Firewall, and QoS.
2.1 Device Components
The TG100 unit includes ports for power, network connectivity, and an antenna connector. It also features status indicators for operational feedback.

3. Setup Guide
3.1 Physical Connection
- Install SIM Card: Carefully insert a valid GSM SIM card into the SIM card slot on the device. Ensure the SIM card is correctly oriented.
- Attach Antenna: Screw the provided GSM antenna onto the antenna connector on the device.
- Connect Network Cable: Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the LAN port of the TG100 and the other end to your router or network switch.
- Connect Power Adapter: Plug the power adapter into the DC 12V power input port on the TG100, then plug the adapter into a power outlet. The device will power on automatically.
3.2 Initial Configuration
After physical connection, access the device's web interface for configuration.
- Obtain IP Address: By default, the TG100 may obtain an IP address via DHCP. You can use a network scanner tool or check your router's DHCP client list to find its IP address. If DHCP is not available, the default static IP address is typically 192.168.X.X (refer to specific documentation for exact default).
- Access Web Interface: Open a web browser and enter the TG100's IP address in the address bar.
- Login: Enter the default username and password (e.g., admin/password or admin/admin). It is highly recommended to change the default password immediately after the first login for security purposes.
- Configure Network Settings: Navigate to the network settings section to configure static IP, DHCP client, or other network parameters as required by your network environment.
- Configure GSM Port: Access the GSM port settings to verify SIM card status, signal strength, and configure parameters such as PIN code (if applicable) and carrier selection.
- Configure VoIP Settings: Set up SIP or IAX2 trunks, including SIP server address, username, and password, to connect the TG100 to your VoIP system (PBX or softswitch).
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Making VoIP to GSM Calls
To make a call from your VoIP system to a GSM number, your VoIP system must be configured to route calls through the TG100. The TG100 will then dial out using the installed SIM card.
4.2 Receiving GSM to VoIP Calls
Incoming calls to the SIM card in the TG100 will be converted to VoIP calls and routed to your configured SIP extensions or trunks. Ensure your routing rules are set up correctly in the TG100's web interface.
4.3 SMS Functionality
The TG100 supports sending and receiving SMS messages. This functionality can be managed through the web interface or integrated with third-party applications via its API.
- Sending SMS: Navigate to the SMS section in the web interface, compose your message, and specify the recipient's number.
- Receiving SMS: Incoming SMS messages can be viewed in the web interface. The device can also be configured to forward SMS to specific email addresses or URLs.
4.4 Routing Rules
The TG100 allows for flexible routing rules to manage call flow between VoIP and GSM networks. These rules define how incoming and outgoing calls are handled, including destination numbers, time conditions, and least cost routing (LCR).
5. Maintenance
5.1 Firmware Updates
Regularly check the Yeastar official website for firmware updates. Updating the firmware can provide new features, performance improvements, and security enhancements. Follow the instructions provided with the firmware package for a safe update process.
5.2 Cleaning
Keep the device clean by gently wiping its exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquid cleaners or abrasive materials, as these can damage the device.
5.3 Factory Reset
A factory reset button is typically located on the device. Pressing and holding this button for a specified duration (refer to specific device documentation) will restore the device to its default factory settings. Use this function with caution, as all configurations will be lost.
6. Troubleshooting
- No Power: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the device and a working power outlet. Check the power indicator LED.
- No Network Connectivity: Verify that the Ethernet cable is properly connected. Check the network status LEDs on the device and your router. Confirm IP address settings are correct.
- GSM Port Not Registering: Check if the SIM card is correctly inserted and active. Verify that the antenna is securely attached. Ensure there is sufficient GSM signal strength in the device's location. Check the GSM port configuration in the web interface.
- Call Issues (One-way audio, no audio, failed calls):
- Verify VoIP trunk registration status.
- Check routing rules for both incoming and outgoing calls.
- Ensure codec compatibility between the TG100 and your VoIP system.
- Review firewall settings on your network to ensure necessary ports are open.
- SMS Sending/Receiving Failure: Confirm the SIM card has SMS service enabled. Check SMS settings and routing in the web interface.
