Operating Instructions
Initial Boil and Keep Warm
- After filling with water and connecting power, the unit will automatically begin heating the water to a boil (212°F/100°C).
- Once boiled, the unit will switch to the last selected keep warm temperature setting.
Setting Temperature
- Press the TEMP SET button to cycle through the available keep warm temperatures: 160°F (71°C), 175°F (79°C), 195°F (90°C), and 208°F (98°C).
- The selected temperature will be displayed on the digital screen.
Quick Temp Mode
- Press the REBOIL/QUICK TEMP button to activate Quick Temp mode.
- In this mode, the water heats directly to the selected keep warm temperature without reaching a boil, reducing steam and energy consumption. This is ideal for purified or bottled water where de-chlorination is not necessary.
Dispensing Water
- Place a cup or container under the dispensing spout.
- Press the UNLOCK button. The unlock indicator light will illuminate.
- Press and hold the DISPENSE button to release hot water. Release the button to stop dispensing.
- For slow dispensing (e.g., for drip coffee), press the SLOW button after unlocking, then press DISPENSE.

Timer Function
- Press the TIMER button to activate the energy-saving timer.
- Cycle through timer settings (6-10 hours) to delay the boiling process, saving energy during periods of non-use. The unit will automatically start heating at the end of the set timer.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Daily Cleaning
- Unplug the unit and allow it to cool completely.
- Remove the detachable lid and wash it with warm, soapy water.
- Wipe the exterior of the unit with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
- The interior of the pot has a nonstick coating and can be cleaned with a soft sponge and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly.
Descaling (Monthly or as needed)
- Mineral deposits (scale) can build up over time, affecting performance.
- Use citric acid cleaner (available from Zojirushi or general household stores) to descale the interior.
- Follow the instructions on the citric acid cleaner packaging. Typically, you fill the pot with water, add the cleaner, and run a cleaning cycle (refer to your unit's specific cleaning mode if available, or boil and let it soak).
- Rinse the interior thoroughly several times after descaling.
