The SYLVANIA LIGHTIFY ZigBee Adjustable White A19 LED light bulb offers advanced smart home lighting capabilities. It connects directly to compatible ZigBee smart hubs, allowing users to control lighting from anywhere using a smartphone or tablet. The bulb features adjustable white color temperature, ranging from soft white (2700K) for relaxation to bright white (6500K) for productivity. It supports dimming and can be integrated with voice control systems like Alexa or Google Assistant when paired with a compatible ZigBee hub. This energy-saving 9.5W LED bulb (60W equivalent) is designed for indoor use and provides 805 lumens of brightness.

Setup Instructions

To set up your OSRAM LIGHTIFY A19 Smart LED bulb, follow these steps:

1. Installation

1. Ensure the power to the light fixture is turned off at the switch before installation.
2. Carefully screw the OSRAM LIGHTIFY A19 bulb into a standard E26 medium base socket.
3. Turn on the power to the light fixture. The bulb should illuminate.

2. Pairing with a Compatible Hub

A compatible ZigBee hub (such as SmartThings, Wink, or Echo Plus) is required to control this light bulb. The OSRAM LIGHTIFY Gateway is not required if using another compatible ZigBee hub. Note that ZigBee smart lights will not pair directly to voice control devices like an Echo Dot or Google Home without an intermediary hub.

1. Open your compatible ZigBee smart hub's application on your smartphone or tablet.
2. Follow the in-app instructions to add a new device or light bulb.
3. The hub will search for new ZigBee devices. Ensure your OSRAM LIGHTIFY bulb is powered on and within range of the hub.
4. Once detected, follow the prompts to complete the pairing process.

Operating Instructions

Once paired, you can control your OSRAM LIGHTIFY A19 bulb using your smartphone, tablet, or voice commands through a compatible smart speaker.

1. Adjusting Brightness and Color Temperature

• Use the connected smart hub's application to adjust the brightness (dimming) of the bulb.
• Within the app, select the desired white color temperature, ranging from 2700K (soft white) to 6500K (daylight). This allows for creating different ambiances or optimizing for specific tasks.

2. Voice Control

If you have an Echo or Google Home smart speaker paired with your ZigBee hub, you can use voice commands for hands-free control. Examples include:

• "Alexa, turn on the living room light."
• "Hey Google, dim the bedroom light to 50%."
• "Alexa, set the kitchen light to daylight white."

3. Schedules and Automations

Utilize your smart hub's application to create schedules and automations for your lighting:

• Set lights to turn on or off at specific times (e.g., turn on before you arrive home).
• Create routines for different scenarios (e.g., "Good Morning" routine to gradually brighten lights).
• Enhance security by scheduling lights to turn on and off while you are away, simulating occupancy.

Maintenance

The OSRAM LIGHTIFY A19 LED bulb is designed for long-lasting performance with minimal maintenance. To ensure optimal operation:

• Cleaning: Ensure the bulb is cool and power is off before gently wiping it with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
• Handling: Avoid dropping the bulb or subjecting it to strong impacts.
• Environment: Use the bulb in dry, indoor environments only, within its specified voltage range (100-120 Volts, 60 Hertz).

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your OSRAM LIGHTIFY A19 bulb, consider the following troubleshooting steps:

• Bulb Not Responding/Not Pairing:
  • Ensure the bulb is powered on and within range of your compatible ZigBee smart hub.
  • Verify that your hub is powered on and connected to your home network.
  • Confirm that you are using a compatible ZigBee hub (e.g., SmartThings, Wink, Echo Plus). This bulb does not connect directly to voice assistants like Echo Dot or Google Home without a hub.
  • Try resetting the bulb by turning it off and on several times (usually 5-6 times) until it flashes, indicating it's ready for pairing.
  • Check your hub's application for any error messages or specific pairing instructions.
• Flickering or Inconsistent Brightness:
  • Ensure the bulb is securely screwed into the socket.
  • Verify that the light fixture is not connected to an incompatible dimmer switch. Smart bulbs require constant power and should be controlled digitally via the hub.
  • Check for any electrical interference in the area.
• Voice Control Not Working:
  • Confirm that your smart speaker (Alexa, Google Assistant) is properly linked to your ZigBee hub account.
  • Ensure the bulb is successfully paired with your ZigBee hub and visible in the hub's application.
  • Check your smart speaker's app for device discovery or synchronization options.
