Safety Information

Your safety is paramount when using a pressure cooker. Please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Always ensure the lid is securely locked before applying heat.
  • Never force the lid open while the cooker is under pressure.
  • Do not fill the pressure cooker beyond the maximum fill line (typically 2/3 full for most foods, 1/2 full for foods that expand like rice or beans).
  • Ensure all valves are clean and free from obstructions before each use.
  • Keep hands and face away from the steam vent when releasing pressure.
  • Do not use the pressure cooker for deep frying with oil.
  • Always allow the pressure to fully release before attempting to open the lid.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Inspect the gasket and safety devices regularly for wear and tear. Replace if damaged.

Setup and First Use

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials and inspect the pressure cooker for any damage.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash the pot, lid, and gasket with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
  3. Gasket Installation: Ensure the silicone gasket is correctly seated in the lid's groove.
  4. Familiarization: Practice opening and closing the lid without food or water to understand the locking mechanism. The lid securely locks into place with a turn of the top knob.

Operating Instructions

  1. Add Ingredients: Place your food and the required amount of liquid into the pressure cooker. Do not exceed the MAX fill line (or 1/2 line for expanding foods).
  2. Close the Lid: Align the lid with the pot and turn the top knob to securely lock it in place. Ensure the lid is fully sealed.
  3. Apply Heat: Place the pressure cooker on a suitable stovetop burner (gas, electric, ceramic, or induction). Use high heat initially.
  4. Reach Pressure: As steam builds, the main valve (jigger valve) will begin to release steam steadily. This indicates that full pressure has been reached.
  5. Reduce Heat: Once full pressure is reached, reduce the heat to the lowest setting that maintains a steady release of steam from the main valve.
  6. Cook: Begin timing your cooking according to your recipe.
  7. Release Pressure:
    • Natural Release: Remove the pressure cooker from heat and allow it to cool down naturally. Pressure will gradually decrease, and the lid can be opened once all pressure is released.
    • Quick Release (for specific foods): For foods that benefit from immediate pressure release, carefully move the main valve to the steam release position. Be cautious of hot steam.
  8. Open the Lid: Once all pressure has been released and the safety indicator has dropped, unlock and open the lid. Always open the lid away from your face to avoid residual steam.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your pressure cooker.

  • After Each Use: Wash the pot and lid with warm, soapy water. For stubborn food residues, soak the pot before cleaning.
  • Gasket: Remove the gasket from the lid and wash it separately. Ensure it is clean and flexible. Reinstall it correctly after drying.
  • Valves: Clean the main valve and safety valve thoroughly to ensure they are free from any food particles or blockages. Use a small brush if necessary.
  • Dishwasher Safe: The pressure cooker is dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended for the lid and gasket to prolong their lifespan.
  • Storage: Store the pressure cooker with the lid inverted or slightly ajar to prevent odors and to protect the gasket.
