4. Installation and Setup
4.1 Location and Placement
Place the refrigerator on a flat, solid surface strong enough to support the unit when fully loaded. Allow at least 4 inches (10 cm) of space between the back and sides of the refrigerator and any adjacent walls to ensure proper air circulation. Avoid placing the unit in direct sunlight or near heat sources like stoves or heaters.
4.2 Leveling the Appliance
The refrigerator has adjustable leveling legs at the bottom. Turn the legs clockwise to raise the unit and counter-clockwise to lower it. Ensure the appliance is level to prevent vibrations and ensure proper door sealing.
4.3 Initial Cleaning
Before first use, clean the interior and exterior of the refrigerator with a soft cloth and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Allow the unit to stand upright for at least 2-4 hours before plugging it in to allow the refrigerant to settle.
4.4 Door Reversal
The door hinges are reversible, allowing the door to open from either the left or right side. Refer to the detailed instructions in the full user manual for the procedure to reverse the door swing.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Temperature Control
The temperature is controlled by a thermostat dial located inside the refrigerator compartment, typically near the freezer section. Settings range from 0 (OFF) to 7 (COLDEST). For normal use, a setting between 3 and 5 is usually sufficient. Adjust the dial to your desired cooling level.

7.1 Defrosting
This refrigerator features a manual defrost freezer. When frost accumulates to a thickness of 1/4 inch (6 mm) or more, the freezer compartment should be defrosted. To defrost, unplug the unit, remove all food items, and allow the frost to melt naturally. Do not use sharp objects or mechanical devices to remove frost.
7.2 Cleaning
Regularly clean the interior and exterior surfaces of the refrigerator. Use a mild detergent and warm water for cleaning. For the interior, a solution of baking soda and water can help neutralize odors. Ensure the door gasket is clean and free of debris to maintain an effective seal.
8. Troubleshooting
- Refrigerator does not operate: Check if the power cord is properly plugged into a grounded outlet. Verify the circuit breaker or fuse. Ensure the temperature control is not set to '0' (OFF).
- Temperature is not cold enough: Adjust the temperature control to a colder setting. Ensure the door is closed properly and not opened too frequently. Check for proper ventilation around the unit.
- Unusual noises: Slight humming or gurgling sounds are normal as the refrigerant circulates. Ensure the refrigerator is level and not touching any walls or other appliances.
- Excessive frost buildup: This is normal for manual defrost freezers. Defrost the unit as described in the Maintenance section.
