The design includes a folding guide rail for compact storage and a cable strain relief mechanism for durability.
2. Safety Instructions
WARNING: Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.
- General Safety: Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, sturdy footwear, and hearing protection.
- Electrical Safety: Ensure the power supply matches the specifications on the rating plate. Use only extension cords suitable for outdoor use and rated for the mower's power consumption. Always use a Residual Current Device (RCD) with a tripping current of not more than 30 mA.
- Operation Safety: Keep children, bystanders, and pets away from the mowing area. Never operate the mower in wet conditions or when rain is imminent. Always check the area for foreign objects before mowing.
- Cable Management: Be aware of the power cable's position at all times to avoid cutting it. The integrated cable strain relief helps protect the cable connection.
- Maintenance Safety: Disconnect the mower from the power supply before cleaning, adjusting, or performing any maintenance. Never attempt to clear blockages or remove grass from the discharge chute while the motor is running.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Adjusting Cutting Height
The GC-EM 1030 features a 3-step axial cutting height adjustment. To adjust the cutting height:
- Ensure the mower is disconnected from the power supply.
- Locate the axial height adjustment lever on the mower deck.
- Move the lever to select one of the three available cutting height positions. Refer to the markings for desired grass length.
- Ensure the lever is securely locked into position before resuming operation.
5.2. Starting and Stopping the Mower
- Connect the mower to a suitable power outlet via an RCD-protected extension cord, ensuring the cable strain relief is used.
- Press and hold the safety switch button on the handle.
- While holding the safety switch, pull the switch lever towards the handle. The motor will start.
- Release the safety switch button, but continue to hold the switch lever to keep the mower running.
- To stop the mower, release the switch lever. The motor will stop automatically.
5.3. Mowing Technique
- Mow in overlapping strips to ensure even coverage.
- For best results, mow when the grass is dry.
- Avoid overloading the motor by not attempting to cut excessively long or wet grass in a single pass. Adjust cutting height if necessary.
- Regularly check the grass collector and empty it before it becomes completely full to maintain optimal cutting performance and prevent blockages.
6. Maintenance
WARNING: Always disconnect the mower from the power supply before performing any maintenance or cleaning tasks.
6.1. Cleaning
- After each use, clean the mower deck, grass collector, and wheels.
- Use a brush or cloth to remove grass clippings and dirt. Do not use high-pressure water or immerse the mower in water.
- Ensure all ventilation openings are clear of debris to prevent overheating.
6.2. Blade Inspection and Care
- Regularly inspect the cutting blade for wear, damage, or imbalance. A dull or damaged blade can lead to poor cutting performance and increased motor strain.
- If the blade is dull, it should be sharpened by a qualified professional. If it is damaged or severely worn, it must be replaced with an original Einhell replacement blade.
- When handling the blade, always wear heavy-duty gloves.
6.3. Storage
- Clean the mower thoroughly before storing.
- The folding guide rail allows for space-saving storage. Fold the handle down and secure it.
- Store the mower in a dry, well-ventilated area, protected from frost and direct sunlight.
- Keep out of reach of children.
